mazdaspeed cold air intake isn't available yet. I currently have the mazdaspeed catback on, sounds great, of coarse, very very very little gain in hp, maybe 1/2? haha, but yeah, i love the ms exhaust. Just waiting on my ms cai.

1. Is it true that MS Catback does not backfire like other aftermarket exhaust systems (Borla, Greddy etc)?
2. I did some research and it seems like backfire is the result of unburned fuel in the exhaust pipes which is ignited by exhaust heat. My question is why do afermarket exhaust systems carry unburned fuel compare to stock exhaust?
3. Can anyone post a sound clip of MS Cat?

I have the ms catback and yes you do occasionally get a little "pop" or backfire if you want to call it, when shifting at usually above 5500 rpms. It actually sounds pretty good, not obnoxious.
The first few orders of the MS CAI has just been shipped out to a few people on the forum from Rosenthal Mazda. I have ordered my MS CAI from online mazda parts and will hopefully be getting it and installing it in the next week to week and a half. I will post on the forum after the install.

$374.95 + shipping http://www.finishlineperformance.com...key=RX08MS1026
$289.99 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AEM-C...spagenameZWDVW
100 bucks cheaper, unless you're pricing the MS lower from somewhere else?

Anyway... back to the topic. I'm thinking about getting the MS exhaust now--it might be the lightest you can get without making your own? Plus I'd think it will flow the best since it's made by Mazda.

I think it's okay to discuss a topic, even if it's been discussed before. This is a fairly new exhaust system so there might be more people who have info on it than in the previous threads.
