Talking Mazdaspeed "Power" Trifecta: CAI, Dual Exhaust, Flywheel

Well, I recently came into to some extra change and so I decided to get some mods done to my 05' RX8, which I got about 3 moths ago. I was really concerned about dealer issues about warranty with aftermarket parts and non-dealer installs (as well as my general inexperience with car mechanics) so I decided to stick with Mazdaspeed stuff and my local MS dealer (and site participant) Rosenthal Mazda. Dealing with them was easy and I would go to them again in the future. I got my car in and out in one day and I also had them replace the tranny and diff fluids with redline fluids.

The car sounds and drives incredibly. Like I said I got the MS Dual Muffler Exhaust, Lightened Flywheel, and Cold Air Intake. No dyno info or anything but the car is definitely more responsive, shifts more easily and sounds incredible. I would probably attribute most of this to the flywheel and tranny fluid. But having said that, even if its only two or three HP or Ft/Lbs. it feels like the intake and exhaust are making a difference too. One thing, the car seems like it has more torque. When letting the clutch out in 1st gear the car seems like it would be harder to stall, not easier. I learned to drive stick on my 8 and I was led to believe that the flywheel might hurt drivability. In my opinion these three options have made the car even easier to drive, not harder. Louder too!!! Rock on!

Whee, I can't wait. I'll be getting the exhaust and flywheel soon.

I'm going to get the MS flywheel, and the ms exhaust done at the same time, so hopefully by christmas time i'll have them in. I have to save up a little bit of money.

BTW- the diff and tranny fluid swap is awesome, but you should invest the extra $40 and get a stainless steel clutch line. This will give you WAY better shifts (and let you have even more fun with that flywheel)!
