ricey aftermarket TV??? Having a tv in ur car is riceY??? So what about those mercedez that have tv in them, or the z06 that have tv in them are they ricey 2? Having gadgets doesn't mean their ricey unless they don't look like they belong there.
Stickers should go, but the interior WOW! MOMO speakers, 7 in tv..alpine ammpsss ooOOO... aaHHHH!!!

I'm getting the Mazdaspeed kit. I've currently got a Winning Blue RX-8 on order.
All these pictures of black RX-8s though are making me change my mind. Does anyone know of any Mazdaspeed kitted RX-8s in blue that they can post pictures of/links to?
Might help me decide once and for all!

If there is a Mazdaspeed 8 coming...
I know it's pure speculation, but I hate it when you buy something and months later they come out with something better.. Yes, it's inevitable, but still sucks..
So I ask.. if there is a Mazdaspeed RX-8 coming in the near future and it follows along the line of the Protege where it gets a factory turbo... How many of will try to see if you can have it installed in your 8?
Is it even possible to fit it in after the fact.. For example, can plain ol' Protege owners take their car in to Mazda and have them slap in the Mazdaspeed turbo?
Hmmm...

While I don't know if all of the parts for the Mazdaspeed Protege' are readily available to the US consumer (as in, you might have to jump through some hoops to get all of the items), the setup was designed so that few parts were changed as possible. For example, the engine is internally the same (cams, pistons, compression, etc.), which is why the boost is relatively low, and the power gain is relatively low. If one could source the parts, they could make their own Mazdaspeed Protege'.
But we don't know what the "Mazdaspeed RX8" will come with. We don't know for sure that it will ever arrive, or if it will be "stillborn". We do know that they were working on a true sequential manual transmission (similar to Toyota MR2 Spyder, BMW M3, Ferrari 360, etc. etc.). That tranny change will require an ECU change and interior mods, among other things, so it will be a VERY involved and difficult upgrade. But that depends on when it comes.
And if the HP increase is done with an increase in displacement, then you will obviously have to be changing out practically the whole engine bay.

JL Amps, MAYBE 2k MAX!
Speakers, maybe another grand, not even.
HU WAY less than 1k, but let's be overstated at 1k.
So we're at 4...and we've overestimated like crazy. So...with a 6 grand margin for install and other crap I doubt they spent anywhere near 10k.
10k maybe if they used real amps (Zapco) and some crazy speakers (Focal, Image Dynamics, Illusion) but they didn't.
P.S. This wasn't rip on you, just to let others know they could do the same for way under 10....

the car looks alright, pretty sensible I need to do more searching around, that's the first hu install I've seen on an 8, and was wondering about those kind of options.

Doesnt ZAPCO make the most powerful amplifier on the market? I heard its mad crazy and it cant be used on any subwoofer because the subwoofer technology cannot handle the mass power of their amps. ZAPCO are used in a lot of competitions, I have ZAPCO, never had a single problem, great amp!

Mazdaspeed RX-8 in 3 years
I was talking to my friend today at Mazda. He's a service advisor at the local dealship. I was trying to pump him for information about the missing hp, but was no help in that department. Anyway, he told me that a Mazdaspeed rep last week talked to them about upcoming products. He said that next year, Mazdaspeed will release their Miata, then Mazdaspeed 6 (a twin-turbo 340 hp beast) and then the Mazdaspeed 8. No rumor on what kind of f/i it will be though.
Who knows what the truth is, but it may be a while before you see a production Mazdaspeed 8.
