Wow...I wonder by what % it shortens the already short throws on the RX8. Only thing I've driven with shorter throws is an NSX.

Our cars have a short throw shifter compared to most cars but there is definitely room for improvement. I've heard the S2K's shifter is PIMP

One of the cars I have sitting around is a MG Midget- the throw on that is literally like half of an inch- beautiful thing she is- so yeah there is room for improvement I would have to agree

Mazdaspeed website says "Matsuda speed to the tuning item "touring kit A- specifications" which furthermore improves the sport efficiency of Matsuda RX-8 adds sets the sport shifter and the sport clutch line, we sell via the Matsuda group dealership and the Matsuda speed commodity dealer of entire country. Feature > of < commodity * sport shifter shift stroke normal ratio approximately 20% short conversion. With sport driving, it designates from shift feeling which bears important role as direct, quick operation becomes possible. With the snap of the wrist the fast shift impression, it becomes the advantage in the time of sport driving. * With the clutch hose which adopts the stain mesh hose whose sport clutch line coefficient of expansion is low, hose expansion when pressurizing is controlled, more secure clutch operation and direct feeling is actualized."

i also forgot they also have this clutch cable now...

I was just going to post about this !!! winblue you beat me to it!

Question though.....is the shifter a 20% reduction in throw, or a 80% reduction? The translation I had done from Japanese wasn't clear, and neither is this one!

Any idea?

Thanks, Gomez.

Gomez...i dunno buddy... 80% off of what is alread y a short shifter would seem a lot even TOO much to a point, so im gonna go with a 20% reduction resulting in a throw that is 80% of the original...ill keep trying though...

I have come to the same conclusion....I did a translation using WorldLingo and it became clearer.....It must be a 20% reduction in the shift throw.

Gomez.

yeah, a 20% reduction on a gear shift which is already miniscule is stupid, as i stated earlier.

i doubt you could waste $400 in a better way. shorter throw doesn't equal a faster shift, nor a "better" shift (decreasing margin for error linearly), it's just a weird thing that people like to modify 'cause the think they're changing something meaningful, and it's easy to do.

to shift faster, move your hand faster, that's about all there is to it.
