Mazdaspeed wing

the new replica with the metal bracket isn't bad. ms one fit with some stickers and screws anyway...
if it's a body kit, i understand the logic behind getting the real thing, but for the rear spoiler, i'd rather save $500 or whatever the difference is and get a replica instead.
painting is the only issue. just prep the wing yourself with primer + sanding and have it shot at a local shop. or just spray paint it. i've seen one painted flat black on a velocity red and it didn't look bad at all.

boy, will i get a good laugh out of it when you bring your rx-8 to 200 mph + and your wing just flys off your 8 and smacks the car behind you

if you're trying to get your rx8 to the speeds you speak of, i wouldn't recommend an ms wing to begin with. besides, do you even know the difference between the ms mount & the replica mount? don't just chant real one's always better, and you get what you pay for. that's not always so.
besides, most want it for looks and maybe a few lbs of downforce at 70mph.
if you're racing, get an adjustable gt. if you're showing off, replica's fine.

the fiberglass brackets stunk when I had them. our car can't even do 200 LOL. In sure the mazadaspeed wing would be fine. Replicas you can't really be sure about. Then again, its just fiberglass.

whoa whoa whoa!
i wasn't aware that this was a forum for flaming...
all i'm doin is expressing my personal opinion, just like everyone else in this forum.
now that you might not agree with it is something not uncommon here, but your aggressive manner in expressing it quite rude and frankly hurtful.
you don't see me flaming you for your own opinions, so if you could please respect mine it would be greatly appreciated....thank you

top wing is mounted on the metal bracket. the bottom part is mounted onto the trunk with double sided tapes & screws last i checked.
mm there's a thread about the ms wing replica install somewhere. it shows that it fit okay.
besides, what's there to fit? the bottom part can easily be molded in with some primers or worst case, just sand off some fiberglass where necessary. i can't imagine that taking more than 30min.

because you cannot hold the wing with double side tape, the screw actually has to go *thru* the trunk, its 100% secure, its the Urethane Sheet you are talking about.
