Why would you send it to someone in snow land to test it instead of the southwest? It's been over 80 degrees here and my temps have been ranging in the 200's. I would like to buy this to test out.

I really dont get what you guys think this will achieve . Sure the fail open feature is good . Then again I dont know what the stock does - but i've never heard of one failing anyway .

As far as added cooling benefits - it will do nothing other than maybe run a little cooler at cruise which may in fact be a bad thing ...

My limited group of prototypes have been sent to various places for testing. These include cold climates and hot dry climates and hot humid climates etc. I've sent them to people who have stock radiators and are NA. I've sent them to people who have my pump and radiator and no FI. I've sent them to people who have thorough FI experience. All of these people have gauges and monitor them regularly. I wanted to do the cold testing so we could identify the degree of temp loss in the cabin when the heater is turned on and any effects to engine response in the colder range. Some of my testers do track time as well.

It took us a long time to come up with what we think is right for these engines since there's so much to consider, even in such a simple part. I even quizzed Mr Abrams (MM) about PCM behaviour in the range this thermostat works to ensure that it wouldn't be in warm-up enrichment mode or anything.

When we are satisfied with the findings of our beta testers we'll be ready to market.

Paul.

not feeling the love here paul. My BHR Rad + Re-medy pump + digital water temp gauges would have put your Tstat to the test.

(you know I'm just messing with you...)

haha, excellent answer my good man.
Can't wait to see what your beta testers come up with, I might have to pick one of these up before the summer.
Either that or make you bring your black bag of goodies to SevenStock.
