which midpipe

which midpipe
should i get?
as of now I'm pretty much stock other than the racing beat exhaust system.
I am looking for a midpipe that will give me an increase in sound because the rb exhaust alone, while it does sound good, is just to tame.
But at the same time I'm not trying to be a cop magnet because California law requires a catalytic converter.

I zoom therefore I am.
I know the feeling Pd123... i keep hoping someone will make a thread talking about midpipes.
In all seriousness, there are many threads talking about midpipes. Use the search function and see which one sounds best to you (there are a lot of threads with youtube clips)
Most people use the RP supercat since it has a cat, but it can melt eventually. AP midpipe is another favorite, you could also have a muffler shop make you a custom midpipe for less then you'd think.
BHR keeps hinting that they are in the process of coming out with a midpipe.. that's the one i'm waiting for.

I would wait and see what's coming out, as laythor stated BHR should come out with a midpipe soon enough to make the wait worth it.
A midpipe is a midpipe, you should ask yourself what you want because a midpipe that fits well, uses the right metals and, in the end, is quiet might be pricey considering it is a pipe.
If you don't care about the noise just have a muffler shop make a pipe for you

Racing Beat is also coming out with a Dual Resonated midpipe. should be out in Spring if all goes as planned

I zoom therefore I am.
I worry about the RB mid pipe since it seems Scott was using RB resonators and lots of people have been having issues with them falling apart and sounding like bags of quarters after a few thousand miles.

it's cus scott (as usual) did a shitty job putting it together.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since I own SO much of their stuff. Their quality of work is exceptional. (just like the kick *** gauge pod you wish you had...

The sound difference between my single resonator and my dual resonator was like night and day.
And the differences were noticed throughout the RPM range (not just "high-end").
The single resonator had a high-squeal pitch to the sound that forced you to turn the radio up louder to overcome it.
Then I found myself shifting up one extra gear just to dampen the sound.
The dual resonator has more or a deep-throaty sound while accelerating and you can't even tell its catless while sitting at idle (except the gas smell).
So the "big deal" with dual resonators was (I believe) the simple fact that it sounded quieter and produced a better tone than a single resonator.
Now could you create that same tone & quietness with a single resonator.... I would like to think so.
The one thing I didn't like was removing the two center braces (no I didn't go with those stupid spacers).

RP midpipe is what Im using. It stinks though, be ready for everyone of your friends/ family to ask you why your car stinks when they walk past it.
Its truly annoying lol

It defeats the pupose of a mid pie to add resonators.
Spend all that money just take away half of the HP gains.
Smell will give away no CAT in Calif.
Good luck getting your car back after they tow it in Calf.

^ very true anyting without a cat has it's own distinct smell however i think on resonator is perfect tha way it's not like a straight pipe and creates SOME backpressure!

I have never seen so many people have a problem deciding on a straight pipe. Unless it has a resonator built in then they all sound the same. Buy the cheapest one.
