midpipe or flywheel?

i wanted to get your guys opinion on this matter. I have to choose between a flywheel or a midpipe because my gf is pregant and i need to keep my money spending @ a minimum right now so i have no chose but to choose. Here are somethings that might help.

1. I have the ACT heavy duty clutch (pressure plate and disc) and i have the Greddy SP2 exhaust system

2. I am eventually going to have both of them @ some point but from the 2 what would be more affective in performance and response?

Thanks for your guy's thoughts

he wants to BUY one of the two, yes... after reading abbid's (i think) thread about his new flywheel....... i would say flywheel.

EDIT: Abbid's thread - https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=fidanza

midpipe costs almost nothing ($200). flywheel costs about $300 - $400 (have to include cost of counterweight) and around $300 more for install.

So if you're looking to cut down on spending, the midpipe is the way to go.

Flywheel will give you something like 6hp in first gear, 3 in second, etc.

Midpipe is more bang for your buck probably, but if your getting both on eventually I think its a matter of preference rather than performance. The difference in performance in negligible Id imagine.

You do realize with a midpipe you are very likely to trip a Check Engine Light, not to mention may be very, very loud with the Greddy exhaust right ?

im goin with the flywheel then i mean i already have the ACT clutch I might as well buy the flywheel and install it all at once instead of seperate times (that would save me alittle money) and plus i heard the flywheel is most effective in the 8.

thanks guys

i plan on goin with the RP Supercat. i hear the high flow cat makes a great difference. should be like 8-10hp and its 11lbs lighter than the stock piece. seems like u shoulda gone w/ flywheel same time as clutch tho.
