1. You do not need to get it tuned
2. You will have a strong gas odor at times, as the fuel will not get burned completely, and the smell will get into the cabin
3. You may very well get the check engine light. Nothing you can do about this as the engine is detecting that you have no cat.
4. If you have an aftermarket cat back exhaust, it will be VERY loud (like obnoxiously loud).
Why you would do this vs. just getting a hi-flow cat is debatable. Might only lose a hp or two, and you won't have the above problem, let alone destroying the environment.

I think there are jerks on this forum who stay online 24/7 so they can be the first to chime in with 'omg search' as if 216 posts ago they werent the same noob we all are.
my question was specifically 'in collaboration with'.....
so if you don't specifically have an answer your post amounted to nothing.

buying an accessport will resolve your CEL issues when catless. However I am of the opinion that a NA rx8 has no business going catless because it is insanely loud, horrible sounding, and the gains do not justify the means.

youve obviously never heard a rx8 with the racing beat exhaust and a catless midpipe!

The sound is fine with the stock exhaust too, so that isn't saying much.
Most who go catless do it for the sound, expecting that more sound = better. Or that gaining 2 hp will be totally worth it. What they usually end up with is a ricer civic sound and no gains to speak of.

Really, if I drove my car a lot this would not seem worth it. To be honest I dived into this after having a relatively quiet catback + stock cat ~ wanted a drastic change and figured hey, why not. As far as the atmospheric changes, while in the atmosphere portion of Earth Systems class I really began to feel less and less guilty; at least being a catless rotary.
wikipedia says it so it MUST be true:
While manufacturers of piston-engine cars were turning to expensive catalytic converters to completely oxidize the unburned hydrocarbons, Mazda was able to avoid this cost by enriching the air/fuel mixture and increasing the amount of unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust to actually support complete combustion in a 'thermal reactor' (an enlarged open chamber in the exhaust manifold) without the need for a catalytic converter, thereby producing a clean exhaust at the cost of some extra fuel consumption.
In case internet sarcasm is not your stronghold, this is a partial joke.

Hey man I'm looking in to the racing beats exhaust and the Resonated Race Pipe, but I don't want it to be to loud when I'm just drive or to have the check engine light on got any info on this?

you'll have the check engine light on unless you have a cobb accessport to hide it for you
but other than that, no the sound is not too loud while driving and you should be fine. do it!
