Might not keep my RE intake, it's REALLY loud !!
I just purchased the RE intake and installed it over the weekend. The install was pretty straight forward and easy, the looks of it is really cool under the hood but boy is it loud. I could totally understand why someone would love it and perhaps if I were a little younger I might like it more.
It really growls at all rpm's except when on the highway at cruising speed. The car seeems to respond to the accelerator a little quicker and feels a little quicker in the high rpm's though maybe this is in my mind since the louder sound might make it seem faster ... overall a good intake for the $$$ but maybe not for me ... I'll give it a couple of more days otherwise ebay here I come !!

Thanks for the idea Omicron but what is the purpose of the intake if I am now going to muffle the sound ... do you think it makes a big enough difference in power to be noticable by the seat of the pants feel ?
I would think the main reason to get the intake would be because of the noise it makes ...

i just installed my RE intake today i love it. alot of people complained about the noise but mine is insulated w/ dynomat extreme so it drowns out some of the sound.....but it still rips. ive only driven for about 5 miles with it on so ill see how i like it. however as of right now i love the aggressive howl @ high rpm's. if your not really on the throttle it sounds stock.

Once the ECU adapts to the new intake the power gains are noticeable. In addition, I told my dealer to keep my "L" flash in place as many are complaining about the "M" lacking power. My service advisor has heard many complaints and agrees that I should keep it as it is. With the RE intake I can feel a big gain above 4K rpm.

How long does it take for the ECU to adapt ?
So far I have only driven about 30 miles but I will say the car is feeling quicker and the noise factor seems to be better since I am getting used to it.
I gotta admit it is fun to hear to roar over 4000 rpm !!!
