You do realize the SSR turbo package when all is said & done will probably be in the neighborhood of $7000. It has a lot of nice parts, but it is big $$$. You said $3500. That won't even buy the kit, let alone the options, the gauges, the installation, gauge pod, etc. Even with $3500 right now, you would probably need to save another $1000 to even attempt a turbo kit. A Greddy kit will allow you to run with 350Z's. STI's are a little tougher, but the Greddy will allow you to keep closer.

PTP Motorsports is coming out with a turbo kit that should be somewhere in between (about $5000 for just the kit). The Pettit supercharger will not get you there. They are looking at about a 50 hp increase. The Greddy is delivering about 60-70 whp, the SSR is about 100 whp. If you really only have about $3500 I would tell you to seriously look at the nitrous option. From personal experience I thought the $2930 Greddy turbo kit sounded cheap enough, but after you throw in the labor, the gauges, the gauge pod, etc you really are looking at around $4500-$5000.

I do can save up more money for a better kit hopefully to be released soon, yet woul di need better exhaust or intake to accomendate with a turbo kit?

Yeah, but I would rather have the Greddy unit where boost is pretty much coming in at 2500 RPM, and you have full tq. at 3000 rpm (according to the RX Tuner article they had 190 lb.-ft. of tq at low RPM's). I think that is the beauty of the Greddy kit for me. Power is pretty much in the low-mid range. I don't really care too much about the high end, as I want the power more for everyday drivability.

Most kits already come with the intake already. Cat back exhaust with larger diameter tubing can't hurt. Although none of the current exhausts for the RX8 are designed specifically for the turbo. I asked Greddy about their Evo line of cat back exhausts (specifically designed for NA cars with aftermarket turbos) & they said they MIGHT come out with it for the RX8 by Sept.

ok cool, so i guess i will just stick with the greddy turbo kit BOVs for now...
any additional add ons that i should get? maybe i can pull out another grand...

midpipe or get a custom header back exhaust. That would free up a lot more hp espcially with the turbo running.

Be very careful with that though. The turbo kit was design/made for the regular catalytic. I had the SR Motorsports hi-flow cat unit (with resonator) & I had bad backfire problems. I tried tuning the turbo kit, & while it helped (about 30% better) it didn't solve the issue, so I finally just pulled it. Some people didn't have issues. Some of us did. FYI
