motor mounts

Hey all I'm probably lookin at some new motor mounts, I think mine are going out, at least that's what me and my friend think this rattling sound is from 2k to 4k in any gear. Just curious what you all are running if you just keep using stock ones or is anyone using inserts or going with steel. Thanks for any word!

There's a thread out there about using inserts somewhere... From my research its better to just stick with the stock stuff due to the breakaway feature.

With that said I'm pretty sure OD was able to retain the breakaway feature with inserts.

I'd do a search if I were you.

I have a set of still steel motor mounts with only a bit of an isolator between the mount and frame. The renny is a pretty smooth engine but at low rpms, these mounts chattered pretty bad at the start. I would not recommend going fully solid. I think stock mounts or if anyone makes a set of quasi-stock mounts that are less prone to failure would be the way to go.

I've been lookin around at inserts and mounts, but definitely difficult to find steel mounts. Even as a smooth feeling motor, I'd kinda like to get a little roughness out of it, if I could maybe get pointed in the right direction towards finding solid mounts that'd be killer!
