Motor rebuild or buy info.

Well turns out that my motor went south. Long story, but now to the task at hand. Getting it fixed. I was curious if anyone had some information on rebuild kits or used motors.

As far as rebuild kits go, i know that Atkins sells them and a few people will do the rebuild. But does anyone else sell rebuild kits?

Also, is there anyone that i am not aware of that would sell a reman or a used motor. Just trying to check my options and see what will work best for me.

Thanks for the help guys.

( i did some searching abut alot of the threads are "i have this motor PM me." I figured i would get something a little more up to date if i could)

Hey,

Sorry to hear about your engine. I might be able to help. I have a few spare engine parts that I could sell you for cheap that I know you probably messed up if you broke an apex seal...although if you are getting some compression that is a good sign, it might just be cracked but in place which means it could have saved your housing. I also know a guy that has a few low mile cores for what I consider the best deal around. Send me a PM and I will give you his number, he freight ships anywhere in the country and at a very competitive rate.

When you rebuild a core, if it is in good condition, there are certain things you don't need to replace. You don't need to buy a full gasket/rebuild set. An O-ring set has everything you need for most rebuilds.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Chris

Why don't you PM Charles R. Hill? he might rebuild it with you adding some goodies and working on some areas that might be improved as well
Not talking about porting in particular, more about reliability mods
