Jimmy don't know if this will help you but go to the site below and you will be able to follow links and hopefully hear different exhausts available.

Even though the MS dual is a little loud for me I still think it is an excellent system. very well made, nice looks and less likely to be given a hassle from the Mazda repair folks when getting warranty work and $100 less expensive then the RB.
It all boils down to how loud you like it, a very personal thing.

Jimmy note that on the mazdatrix website the mazdaspeed exhaust shown is not the mazdaspeed dual sport exhaust discussed in this thread. That was mazdaspeed's first generation exhaust for the RX-8.

you can order it from www.finishlineperformance.com (rosenthal mazda) for $525 shipped(this would be the mazdaspeed sport dual exhaust).

I love mine still, but it's kinda pissing me off that the tips are already 'bronzing' a little. The Brullen exhaust on my MX-3 looks as silver and shiny as it did when I first put it one 5 years ago - no heavy duty cleaner necessary. The MS doesn't seem to be as bad as the Racing Beat in this respect, but I thought the double-walled tips would keep this from happening on the Mazdaspeed. What's the deal, Mazda??

I can answer both your observations.
Yes the car is very low only 1000. As for the swirl marks.....a few weeks ago at 700 miles some dumb kid rear-ended me. Bumper was destroyed but luckily no sheet metal damage, muffle was also lost. The swirl marks are from the body shop and the new MS muffle is also compliments of the crash. I chipped in $100 and got the upgrade.

I think our RX gold up because of the higher heat of the rotary exhaust. I recall reading we are 300 to 400 degrees hotter then a piston. Again this is second hand info so take it for what it is worth.

get some english chrome polish. I did, and so did a few others, works like wonders in ridding the gold or bronzing of your tips .

Thanks! I couldn't find anything called 'english chrome polish" specifically; but I did find 'English Custom Polish'. Is this it, or is there another brand name I should look for?

Thanks again. Yeah, I did see that thread recently, so I'm not sure why I didn't just go right back to it. Looks like I'll be picking up a bottle of that stuff.

I just installed my MS Dual Sport Exhaust yesterday and I love it. It sounds awesome. It suits the car much better than the stock exhaust, but it is not obnoxious. IMO the tips don't look that much bigger than stock. If you didn't know much about RX-8's you would think they are stock.
I did end up breaking a bunch of the cheap plastic clips when removing the bumper exhaust finishers. I also had an initial exhaust leak at the slip fit from the center pipe to the muffler. I had to resituate the clamp a few times on the pipe to get a good seal.
I did not have any problems with the exhaust sitting higher on one side as opposed to another as reported by some.
All in all it was a good install. It took about 2 hours with some help from a buddy, the extra hands were definitely a help.
