For the same reason that they are louder. They do not muffle the sound as well. The MS I had let all sorts of pop come through but with the RB you hear none.

It is mostly because of the stock tune and there is less back pressure than stock.
When I installed the Canzoomer and kicked it up to stage 2 the pops lessened considerably.

MS vs Corksport? Are they really the same or are people just grouping them because the design is the same? Any MS dual can vids? I'm between this and the HKS Hi-Power - wish I had the dough for the Ti Jic.

So I think I will get another supercat, but get a quieter/mellower exhaust.

I have corksport on my car. It sounds very nice with stock cat. You can hear the wail when driving on high way and it encourage you to rev and rev because it sounds so nice up the rpm range. You won't hear the rotary sound...the exhaust sound drown out all the rotary sound that you use to hear with the stock exhaust. But if you put a midpipe on your car....it still sound nice but it will be very loud, especially from 2-3200 rpm range and then again from 4000 rpm upward. I recently got pulled over because of it. I was doing 70 mph on the express way...around 3500 rpm or so and the cop said the exhaust was too loud. You definitely feel different in acceleration in the higher rpm with the midpipe. The tip on this exhaust looks nice. Some may like it and some may not. Over all it is a good exhaust, not to mension that it only weight like 29 lbs.

I know this thread is about RB and MS....but....let me throw another in the mix for value, quality, and sound. I installed the RX7Store's exhaust - see the link when I got my '8' in the summer of 05. It is a stainless exhaust using Magnaflow cans (polished) with a 3 inch pipe and polished 3.5 inch tips.
As of now, the tips have not yellowed and the sound is perfect for my liking....louder than RB but just a bit quieter than Greddy or Borla without any 'rice'. Nice and deep under normal driving and very agressive when you get on it. It does 'drone' just a bit at highway/constant speeds but I think most aftermarket systems will.

I have the sport on my car. Very quiet except when you get on it - but even then it's just smooth like a quieter F355. I've neverr heard the others but am considering selling it to replace with something "else".

Ah, ones single and the other is duel. I'm guessing duel sounds better..
Weird though, cause they're about $100 in price difference.. Single costing more..

Most reviews say the dual is way (as in WAY) louder (look at the tiny mufflers) and very droney too between 2500-3500 RPMs. Some people have sold theirs for this reason, just read this thread. They are both stainless.

I have the Mazdaspeed Sport Dual Muffler Exhaust and it sounds great. It's loud when you open her up. Search for the sound bites, but I think the Greddy may be louder.

Well it has been 2 years now so I figure it is time to update my review. The Race Beat has been great. I use Old English on the tips and they look good as new after 2 Chicago Winters.
The Sound has gotten a little deeper but seeing that I drive the car daily is would be difficult for me to notice the difference after 2 years. Once the exhaust gets hot it is a little louder which in my opinion is nice. The RB is very easy to live with but you never get the roar of some louder systems. On the other hand my sons friends say my car sounds like a race car.
Over all I'm still happy with the system and love the looks over the stock system. I see stock pipe now and just think how bad they look. 3.5 to 4 inch tips really make this car.
If your looking for a little louder system with great looks, easy installation that will add great looks to your car you can't go wrong with the Race Beat. If your looking for a really aggressive much louder sound, you will be disappointed with this system.
Enjoy.

I had a need to review this old thread so I thought I would update it.
5 Years now and the system is holding up great no real rust and the tips still looking new. I use the Old English polish on them about once every 2 months and it cleans them right up. The sound is getting a little louder with age and I find this nice. I can hear a little pop from the exhaust now and then. As stated before, the system is louder when warm but still very livable, no drone. Over all pretty happy with the investment and if I ever sell the car I bet I'll recoup most of my investment in the system by selling it separately. Over all a good investment in my eyes from a look, sound and financial recoup stand point.
