AT to MT

How much do you think it would cost to swap transmission from AT to MT including the actual transmission and labor

you would be better off trading it for a MT, i havent seen an actual number but most members say its too costly for it to be done. i guess you can always take the 5 speed mazsport sells and go that way might be a little cheaper i think

What year is your AT? If its a 4-port even after spending all that money you would have a 6-speed version of the lower powered motor.

For a fairly stock car, I think it's been generally considered less expensive to trade it in and buy an MT (eating the depreciation) than to disassemble and rebuild the car as an MT. Part of this is due to the high expense of the parts with the car being fairly new.

I know for another car I considered doing, you needed:
1. Tranny
2. ECU and wiring harness
3. tranny support brackets
4. clutch and fly wheel and line and misc assembly parts
5. clutch cylinder and reservoir (don't remember off hand if you can just replace the brake reservoir on the 8 if it's shared.)
6. Drive shaft? probably.
7. Rear diff? probably.
8. Rear axles? maybe not.
9. Shifter/interior trim pieces/boot/****
10. What's required to remove the paddle shifters? new steering column cover or more?

There is likely more. It's probably pretty expensive.

sorry to threadjack but if you had the 4 port motor, wouldnt it be better to boost this motor vs the 6 port. i now the rx7 engines are 4 port and hold boost obvoiusly well. just asking

The number of ports isn't really probably as significant a difference between the engines (Renny 6 port vs. Rx7 4 port) as the compression ratio, port location, and probably a bunch of other tid bits. If it was, people would just buy the greddy plate that blocks 2 ports instead of throwing it out.

Trade it in. Get an MT.

It could be done, but why would u want to do that? Its a total waste of time and money.

it will cost less to trade in than do this kind of pathetic swap.

+1
It isn't really cost effective.
