My Aem CAI experience

My Aem CAI experience
I installed my new aem cai last night and it took about 4 hours. What i've noticed is that everything about it is slight except the noise. I got a slight increse in throttle responce and in go. 3rd gear seems to pull slower in the high RPMs, but 1st and 2nd seem to REV faster. The car idles higher now, about 900 RPMs. The sound it makes at WOT is really loud even louder than the exhaust. It's not worth it, if you have a question of whether or not to get this set up, I would recommend you stick with stock and save some cash.

just a question. Did you read any threads about the AEM/MS intake before buying it? I'm pretty sure every single one talks about the increase in sound you'll be getting from it.
After installing it did you reset by stepping on the brake 20 times?

I live in Florida which is basically a big swampy rainforest and I never get CEL's. In the summer it rains torrentially everyday.

Yah man me either I have never gotten a CEL because of the rain. Just put the sock on it I doubt it really restricts that much air if you put it on anyways. Better safe then sorry.

I like my MS/AEM CAI; Almost like stock at light throttle, but has a nice growl at WOT in the lower rpms, and freakin' loud near redline when WOT!
No CELs or issues other than a slight idle variation occasionally, and I'm only using one screen.

If you read my signature you'd see i have the RB strait pipe and RE-Flash already. I've read almost everything i could on this mod thats why I've waited so long to do it. After much research on this forum i decided to give it a try. It's not that I don't like the noise, but I feel that it is not worth 300 bucks. Why would i reset the E-shaft after this mod(pressing on the brake 20 times)?
BTW I did use the sock.

My question was to him and why I would step on the brake 20 times. From what I've read stepping on the brakes 20 times resets the E-shaft.

I have the AEM CAI, and had no problems with engine or with MIL coming on. I am getting close to 80k and the rotary still runs strong with the AEM. I have had the K&N intake and Stock K&N filter drop in too. I feel the AEM is more better. Just my two cents.
The reason Why AEM is so expensive...is because they come with an C.A.R.B. for Emission for California. So you don't have worry about not passing when you SMOG your car, becuase that little number makes it all legal. All the research and time they put into it to make it ARB approved. Believe me, I am In the Process of Getting my SMOG License. AEM makes a good product.
I don't know for sure If Racing Beat or HKS come with C.A.R.B or Eo#? I know that AEM come with CARB. Also too, I printed out an copy of my EO# off the C.A.R.B. wesite too, so if ever an Law Enforcement pulls me over for what ever reason, I can Show him/her the EO# and paper that tells him/her it is CARB approved, if I am ask to Pop my Bonnet. So no Fix it ticket.
