I like the look of the 8 wingless.. I think it's a little more sleeker. Just my two cents though.
Also, I don't like the look of only a front body kit bumper without the rest of the kit. It makes it look a little uneven.

sorry should mentioned i didn't just mean the front bumper...left that off...and the short shifter......the axial flow short shifter...def lookin forward to that..ill update my list...if anyone things i should switch my order let me know...really i should be focusing on suspension first...obviously bc of the type of events i want to participate in...but my ***** just don't let me...def like the look of the stock spoiler tho...not a huge fan of the mazdaspeed one tho...

Scratch the intake and exhaust manifold if you are gonna go FI. Your just gonna replace those parts when you go FI anyways. No point in wasting money when you can build a FI Fund

I say go for a set of tein basics instead of just the S-Tech springs, but thats my opinion because the stock shocks will only last so long on S-Techs and everyone loves slammed ride that can only be achieved by coilovers.

Also it's not just the CEL with a catless midpipe that you have to worry about. It will be loud, ridiculously loud if you get one of those aftermarket catback units. Not to mention an overwhelming smell because of the midpipe.

Just go FI, and skip the disappointments you'll be getting with all the rest.
Oh, and there is no wheel hop at 300+ WHP... It just spins.

You don't get it. Susp. upgrades won't stop you from loosing traction when FI. Big *** tires will...

i don't mean upgrade the suspension to keep from loosing traction...i mean upgrade suspension to improve how the car handles...

but like i said...aside from going forced induction...do any of the mods..intake, header, exhaust, etc...benefit at all without tuning?

correct.

or you could just work on suspension first. either or is a good way to get started if you have FI plans for the future.

in the meantime, you should also look into a lightweight flywheel. i noticed you didn't mention one, and i can honestly say this was/is my favorite mod (Prolite from ACT).

that, along with a short shifter would be good entertainment, as well as a cat-back to really hear those high revs, which seems to put a smile on my face EVERY TIME.

edit: forget the wing, looks better w/o IMO

Skelton, what is it you plan on doing with your car? You simply have a misguided list of stuff to slap on your car, yet it doesn't sound like you've ever tracked it nor plan to(?). If you have yet to take the car to a road course, THAT is the first order of business. The RX-8 is a far more capable car than most people who drive it and it won't do any good to change a thing if you have no clue how to push the stock vehicle to its limits. Join the SCCA or NASA, participate in a bunch of HPDE-type events, and learn about vehicle dynamics. You'll find that the RX-8 is far different than what you think it is now.

Excellent, for a few reasons. Not only will you find the limits of the car and yourself, and improve on both, you'll also have a chance to possibly mingle with other RX-8 owners and find out what really works and what doesn't with certainty.

well drivin the car the past week or whatever i've gotten a pretty good feel for what it can handle without loosin traction etc...i feel like it can be pushed pretty darn hard...theres an scr scca meeting this tuesday that im gonna go to...i think there's an event in greer sc at the bmw plant next month and somethin else down at roebling rd as well...i'm lookin into both of those..and maybe get to a NASA driving school as well...i know i just missed out on one or there may be one comin up at roebling rd soon

Once you learn how to go beyond the limits of traction and "rotate" the car, it's a whole other game. Fun, though. This car is awesome.

Before you go after mods and upgrades find out what autocross class you want to complete in and see what they allow. Typically RX-8s dominate B-stock but there are tight restrictions on what you can replace or modify. Basically you can't replace anything that is not a wear item. Like intake, exhaust, springs etc. But you can replace shocks, pads, tires.

Find out what you'll be allowed to modify before you buy stuff you can't use.

If you don't care I would recommend the KW variant 3 coilovers in the group buy section. Polak has an excellent deal on them and they are basically all you'll need for suspension modification and really the best set up going for this car.

+1 on that. Find some local "test track" and have some fun

Also, +1 on the flywheel. I love the Prolite and continue to maintain that the only bolton that does anything for power is a flywheel. You will feel a difference well into 3rd, possibly 4th. In 6th gear you can't really "feel" any difference, but it accelerates just a tad faster (passing on the highway)

Oh, and I think the RB screens are a waste of money.. I made my own with wire mesh from home depot, some spray paint and a couple of hours. Looks decent (as in, invisible) and works quite well. No more bent fins for me.
