I agree with olddragger. This car most definately has a high 13 second in her N/A. Tunning is key, tires are key, weight savings is key and the right n/a mods are key. Add all this with driver skill and you'll get the key that will unlock the 13 second door.

Well done ants! Better get a proper time slip so you can take the Aussie mantle ![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Gtech is good if you compare it to an earlier run.
12.99 is a 12 second car - it has broken into the 12's. That is how drag racers work, it aint up for debate!
Cheers,
Hymee.
PS - 19 and an RX-8. I thought there was a law against that? j/k

I'm not sure what the limits of our NA Renesis is, but I hope one day to cut .5 sec off my times by cutting some weight on my 8 and getting some good NA mods.
I hear you all talk about this stuff and it makes me feel I'm missing all the fun, but right now my 8 is too new and has too little miles for me to start messing with it...I guess I'll have to live through your stories...lol.

well the normal conversion for weight loss, is for every 100 lbs you take out of the car you can gain 1/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile. So some ideas are carbon fiber body panels, (i.e. hood, fenders, and trunk lid) Pull out the passenger seat, carpet, rear seats, some interior body panels such as inside the trunk, pull out the sterio system, speakers, pull out the spare tire, switch to lighter rims. As far as performance goes, headers, 3 inch exhaust, ignition amplifier, air/fuel controller tuned correctly, intake, pullies, street port the motor, port the throttle body, polished ported intake manifold from Acosta, clutch, and a lightend flywheel, that'd be a great start and could possible take MAYBE, and I mean MAYBE take a second off your time. The reason I am saying this is because the Renesis is so well built from the factory to run N/A it's hard to squeeze a lot more power out of it. But then it could be more then a second, you'll have to try it out.
As far as running any faster then a 14.5 completely stock it's extremely difficult if not impossible. Even road and track couldn't pull off better then a 14.5 and they have professional driving their cars, and I believe the best they ever did was 14.53x. That's just my .02 cents

The weight loss I am looking at is about 100 pounds but most importantly I aim to reduce the weight in key area's (rims, flywheel, and pullies (not underdrive since I hear that's not a good thing).
So, with 100 pounds of weight loss (reducing unsprung weight (I think they call it) on the rims, flywheel, pullies, etc) and gaining (finding) about 20-25HP more I hope to cut my possible 14.5's to 14.2's.
Is that reasonable?
With that said, have you seen the price for the Greddy Turbo now a days...it's CHEAP for the power you get, only 2.9K or so...but of course you will need the Inter-X which makes it too expensive for me at least.
