Need help choosing

Im a 17 year old HS school student so I have limited income going into my car, luckly i dont have much else to spend my money on so its not too bad but I only make around 150$ a week, and at first i just planed on doing some simple mods to the 8(Intake, Exhaust, Canzoomer, Tints and springs) I never really thought about getting the greddy because I didnt think it would be worth saving money the whole summer and the bigger issue is that it will not pass emisions so i guess i have a couple questions to those who own a turbo 8 or have knowledge on rotary turbos in general, First of all I wanna know how the emisions issue will effect me?. Is gonna be reasonable to get 115,000 miles out of a turbo?. Obvuisly this will drop the warrenty but will that really matter to me since I plan on moving out to Arizona next year for school?

I don't think you are going to get 115,000 miles out of the engine, let alone the turbo. But if you are looking for turbo longevity definitely add the blow off valve, turbo timer, & catch can. Unless you have $5000-$6000 do attempt to buy & install a turbo. You are better off getting other mods to enjoy your experiences. Start off with the Racing Beat suspension package (w/ front sway bar endlinks), it is cheap & improves handling quite a bit, then what smrx8 said tha catback exhaust (improves sound tremendously) & air intake, maybe a hi-flow cat down the road.

Yes it will matter, the warranty is national so if you move to Arizona and something breaks you can bring it in to a dealerhip in Arizona and have the warranty work done. In fact it doesn't even have to be a Mazda dealership, sometimes other dealerships will do the warranty work and Mazda will pay them for it.

I wouldn't risk voiding the warranty on a car you will be paying for through college, you won't have the money to fix it yourself should something expensive break and why would you want to when you should get it for free from your warranty.

The car is in my dads name and hes cool with me getting it turboed as long as I can pay for it all and pay for anything that might happen to the car afterwords.

And ive decided im just gonna go with some simple mods- Intake, exaust, suspension and prolly canzoom somwhere down the road...thanks for all the info
