Need some low-end power!

Hey guys, I recently bought an automatic rx-8 and this thing has like zero low end power...Hell a truck can beat me off the line! I was wondering if there were specific upgrades to get the low end up so it will actually leave them in the end. Right now sitting completely stock I raced a Honda Civic SI 2004 model and I got one car link on him so mid/top end is fine...Just taking off is what is killing me. Any help? I got money so throw some ideas at me!

You should be greatful, the auto has more torque than the manual version of the car. The most important thing you have to remember is that the car has a rotary engine, not the most torque driven engine in the world. The only real way to get anything extra out of the bottom end would be to SC the engine. There are some in the works, but none out on the market to my knowledge. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) Otherwise, enjoy the car there's nothing quite like it.

Ehh, well I've heard that superchargers and turbochargers tear up engines and I got 6 years of notes on this beast so thats out of the question. However exhaust, pulleys, intake, header. None of these will truly give me any more low-end power? Let me know...

All of those might add about 15 extra HP and cost over $1,500, V-6 Accords will still dust you .

^While they are still stock. Bottom line, there aren't going to be much options for the autos. I'd suggest a turbo. Properly tuned, you should be fine. Either that or trade your car in for a 06 model, a manual, or a different car.

Rotaries are not that good at making torque, they can make a lot of horsepower though. I know how you feel about the low end on the AT. I just recently traded it in for a 6spd, which is a really big difference.
