Subject to fine tuning. All of the above items are being done. All but the line up with the fuse box. My intention was to make a flat top , not a curved/bent misalingned leaning towards the back on one side, top. The plastisc, what you call fasteners are just covers over the steel screws, Get your facts straight.
Now I want you to go and play critic on all the other products that every other company makes. Seeing how you think your so good at it. And if you don't I'll just think, and everybody else that your a BHR hater trying to stir up ****.

It excellent to see that you take perfectly valid criticism and turn it inot a convoluted personal slug fest, after all deflection is the best tactic,,,
Like I said take it or leave I didnt read that this was a protoype at all, in fact what I heard were order already being touted from the fanfair,,,
Im sure that if I didnt share constructive critiques at all that none of the forementioned thing would be realized in any shape or fashion,,,
"not a curved/bent misalingned leaning towards the back on one side, top" thats a funny and pretty ignorant way to look at it I guess you can only cut completely square cuts,,, heres what Im trying to say,,,
Damn dude no need to get all fussy about it,,, I mean really how hard would that be,,,

I do, just last week I expressed my discontent with Brice about falsly advertising his replica Kie Office eylids, dont think your too unique that I follow you guys around waiting for oppurtunities to pounce,,, lol,,,

Jedi, its people like you that ruin forums... forums are here to provide insight and knowledge. You provide opinion and useless banter. You try and take a functional comment and make it so ludicrius to try and disarm the functional critism. I am not trying to argue with anyone I am trying to shed light on the functional or in this case non functional features of the product. I do not hate aginst anyones products in particular. I find that this particular product is more of an anti functional mod then a functional one. I don't want some of our younger and inexperienced members to fall into the trap of buying something thinking its a perfromance modification.

Forgive me for thinking your just picking on BHR. My bad. lol right.
Read my post,, these little fine tuning issues that you have brought to my attention are already being done. So your telling me nothing I don't know already. I'm impressed that your so observant though.
But, your wasting your time trying to make improvements that are being done already.
Anymore discussion on these mute points is done until I see something constructive from you.

I have nothing more to say I await the pics of the non-protoype-prototype version, aww man now Im all mixed up again,,,

REALLY?
I guess I should stop offering tech advice, creating threads that get sticky'd, helping members work on their cars, planning meets, helping out with SevenStock, etc.
You're right, I do NO good here and should pack up and leave before I ruin this place.
Your comment is so pathetic and unsubstantiated that I honestly can't help but laugh. What have you done for this forum? You can PM me if you like since that conversation has nothing to do with this thread but if you feel like continuing it, I'd gladly entertain the idea.
I completely agree
the only useless banter I see here is you continuing to beat a dead horse by criticizing which subforum this is placed in. If it's in the wrong section, a Moderator will move it. Get over it, seriously.
so PLEASE, shed light!
If you find it to be an anti functional mod, then please provide us with something to help back up your theory. Easy and Flashwing have tried to do that by monitoring IAT's but you have nothing else to bring to the table but your opinion.
I always welcome a healthy debate.
I thank you for your concern of our 'younger and inexperienced' members but this has been addressed. This 'mod' is NOT marketed as a performance mod.
I will say this again: anyone who buys this thinking it's a Performance mod based solely on the fact of where the thread is, is an idiot. I have no nice way or Politically Correct way of putting that.

I always enjoy "theorists" debating data.
Radiant heat? Really?
Its a BOX! Its only function is to improve the look of the engine bay and block CONVECTED heat from the radiator fan. It works. We have the data.
Really, what is there to talk about?
Wanna discuss the function of the engine cover?

This must be some kind of joke...
whoneedspistons: I found that worthless banter you were talking about. See below.
ohhh come on your not supposed to use rule #4 of the How to Create a Successful BHR thread, handbook until you use rule #3
1. Create your thread, dont worry about a thing you can never be proven wrong, you've got that nice shinny BHR logo to back you up.
2. Throw around numbers that are only seen/known by you, remember you cant be wrong if no one can't tell the difference,,,,
3.resort to personal attack of all the post that refute your statements/data dont worry the funnier you are the less people will notice the deflection,
4. Throw the dictionary at those who argue, because everyone knows if you get one or two words wrong/mistyped your whole argument is void,,,
you have now created a successful BHR thread congratulations,,,

I also feel sorry for you for not seeing them(my critiques) for what they are,,, there were no personal assults waged in them at all,,,
My criticisms werent harsh at all, they were blown out of proportion because they were the only ones in here,,, I would love to see this done with a little bit more attention payed to the details of its construction, also I can only critique on what I see here and now, Easy said the production runs will be more refined, I hope and imagine they will be,,,,

Very few people deliver said criticism with objectivity in the first place. The flux we vendors are stuck in is that people PM us and ask to see what new products and ideas we are working on. We try to have a little fun and display a work-in-progress and a few critics come out and the arguments start.

it looks like someone glued a windshield wiper blade on that hideous wing. here
but whatever, I dont' like it so I wouldn't buy it / do it to my car. At least I didn't go into his thread and crap all over it because I don't like the way it looks.
back on topic. If that's even possible at this point...

have you seen the FAILURE that is Greg's lip spoiler? I never thought it would be possible to make a GTO wing on an RX-8 look uglier.

I invite anyone who wants to lay a critique on my stuff to do so, it will only make it better and make me think in another direction that I previously did not before,,, That almost sounds like something that someone I know used to say
Alright Im hungry fellas time to eat,,,

BHR never said that this was a performance mod. I am sure that if anyone posed the questions they would openly say that it is not ment to be performance based and would never misinform their customers.
IMO, BHR has built their company around customer service and producing quaility products. They noticed like many of us with AEM/ MS intakes that their is a big open space and produced a product to fill that space.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and can voice what they think about the product here. If you don't like it fine, don't buy it. On the same token don't mislead their potential customers by making bogus claims that you cannot back up (ie this mod will caus heat soak).
If you have empirical data that says this product will decrease performance, I am sure that BHR would love to see it and would correct the problem immediately. Otherwise quit trying to make this into something that it is not!

Actually, I'd like to hear a plausible theory on how a metal with a low specific heat like aluminum is going to cause "heat soak" by converting convective energy into equivalent radiant energy.
Its just there to block the hot wind from the rad fan - just like Mazda's plastic pan does.
Try this:
Grab your MAP gas torch, start it and then point it at the palm of your hand from about 6 inches out.
Once the screaming stops and your neighbor puts down the extinguisher, grab a 1/8 inch piece of aluminum sheet (like that in the BHR Intake Shroud) and repeat the experiment, this time with the aluminum about half-way between your torch and your gimpy appendage.
You will probably notice (if you still have functioning nerves in that hand), that convective does NOT equal radiant at a 1:1 ratio.

Ok so I just drove home from Charles R. Hill's house. About 23 miles.
Ambient temp ranged from 75 - 77 degrees.
Intake temps ranged from 78 -82 degrees.
Range as always is 3-6 degrees above ambient.
This was a 50/50 split of city and freeway.
You can take my word for it or not. If you want me to take a video to prove this I will certainly make the 25 minute video for your viewing pleasure to prove that the alleged heat soak issue does not exist due to this product.
