new engine...v8????

has anyone ever heard of someone dropping a cylinder engine in one of these bad *** 8's. i mean i love my rotory but i know people have dropped different rotaries in, but what about a v6, flat six, or even a v8....would any of these even fit, haha. you could get a mad combo of power with a large output engine of this magnitude

there's someone doing a 2jz swap here, check the major hp subforum. people do ls1 conversion all the time in rx7s. only a matter of time.

Sorry, but I just tried to imagine what a 'dry sumo" is before it clicked and it's dry sump...

My mind is in the worst spots today.

very rare on the 8. It's done on the RX-7's, LS1 conversions.

defeats the whole purpose of buying an RX-8

i dont think it defeats the WHOLE purpose of owning an 8.

im sure an LS1 swap wouldnt upset the handling TOO much.

i'd love to have an LSx powered 8. that'd be too much fun.

There's tons of space in the rx8 engine bay. If my engine ever goes, I will definitely look into a LS swap.

Wow an ls1 Rx8 would be a monster , but honestly the sound from the engine WILL NOT match the appearance of the car. That matters a lot to me lol. I've seen ls1 rx7's and it is just really bizarre.

Hey stealth hope you dont abuse your dry sumo too much. Its already enough that you leave him in the dungeon. My dry sumo is better then yours >_>
