New style Bonez/RP Supercat
I just received my Bonez Supercat in the mail today from RP, and confirmed the rumor that they have changed the style of the cat unit... it's now smaller and has a heat shield on it, but still no hanger though. I'll be installing it on saturday and I'll report back on sound, performance, etc.

I have some extra stainless hangers, both in OE-style or a lower cost hook-style
they're a bit pricey, but I recommend the flanged O2 sensor port from Burns Stainless if you want to add one for an O2 meter, just drill the hole slap it on and weld the flange, much easier cleaner and smoother than the usual inserted type

Great to see the new design, too bad about the lack of a hanger but I guess it's not a big deal to tack one on.
Can't wait to hear a report on the sound.
So to sum up the cat options:
RP has a Bonze cat
RX7Store has a magnaflow cat
Any one know what the brand SR cat uses??

What cat back system do you have?
I was of that opinion at the time that I may have also needed a hanger because of the weight of the OEM cat back. Now that I have the tanabe I question if it's necessary with the weight reduction.

Really weird that mine always slapped the undercarriage brace and yours doesn't. That's why I had to get a hanger...go figure...
I have the Super Hyper Medallion Exhaust...I don't have the specific weight, but from holding both I'd guess it's ~10-12lbs lighter.

you have a bracket mount at the manifold up where the engine tranny mate together, a mount at the rear diff, and a non-rigid ball seat connection between the two points where the midpipe and exhaust mate together. If you don't think the pipes are flexing about that ball seat connection and fatigue cycling some part of the system you're mistaken.
We're only talking about hanger that adds almost no weight and on a $300 - $400 retail part might add another $10 to supply and install. I'm sorry, that's just dumb. I wouldn't even do that on a lightweight max race system.
