hey, not everyone is perfect, atleast he had the ***** to create a new front end for it, sorta like what he did to the FD back in the day:

You have take it out of context. When a car is completely redesigned like that it no longer is an RX8 or RX7, even though it may have the same doors. Think of it as a new car altogether and don't compare it to what it was to start with.
