Racing Beat should write down peoples VIN's in case the dealer flashes someones car. That way RB could reflash it for free.

I have a somewhat related question to this upgrade:

What determines the rev limit in a rotary? RB upped the limiter by a few hundred RPM, but why not 1000 or even 3000? Is it just that the torque falls off so much, is it the tranny, or something else?

I think it's the tranny + the lubrication capacity of the oil.

before (cant find the graphs anymore) my afr dropped fairly quickly after going to open loop and would hit very low 11s. now they stay above 12 for the most part with short dips into high 11s i posted the afr and timing from a recent run in the "flash new flash" thread i hinted "im not using a piggy back" and said i wasnt on the new flash but no one got it

to compare, here's mine when it was stock.

Comparing AFR rates between RPMs, I'm sure he's seeing enough leaning to feel the hp boost.

It does look a little jagged though, maybe it's the sample rate.

Now you tell me I was trying to figure out why your graph looked so different than mine but I just thought it was because of the Sflash. Your graphs look good though!

With 10whp + the RX-8 weight/power ratio should be the same that the "280HP" 350Z!

But it is throughout the RPM range not just a bump at the end... better than adding a hundred horse for one second

so you consider 7000 - 9500 rpms "throughout the rpm range"?
