And/or you would design the tube to the stock box to angle to the left more so the inlet opening can avoid the front license plate.
I even fear that taking the number plate may not solve the problem. You see the diamond where your number plate is not open to 3/4 of the width (only the bottom 1/4 is open to air), and otherwise they are solid.

I checked your site. Only the V1 there. No lic. plate = no problem w/V2 for me. Do you carry that and how much? Thanks.

ps taka if you look at the piping shown in the pic and your car, I think the Odula v2 fits just in the open space of the grill, not that covered above The real ? is is this "better" than the RB duct.... one would think bigger is better lol

I guess we will see when those guys order version 2, but the original Odula air duct works fine on my car. Looking at the original duct is that it is nicely long from top to bottom, so gets a bit of air that way too.

I also was thinking that a "D" shaped inlet would work. Even better if the shaft was adjusted towards the left. Straight on the side of the license plater but wide angled on the other side. A square or rectangle would work if you tilt the shaft going up to the the stock box and the opening of the inlet was far left as possible.

RB wasn't designed to mate with the stock box:

Jay,
Started to install and a couple of things.

-No English instructions
-Pipe doesn't fit in or around the intake box opening. They are the same size. I even took the box out to see if it was even possible with a squeeze here or there. Nope.

I've got to put the car back together with this thing as is. Fortunately the metal bar/strap holds it really well.

It is direct from Odula. I have never put it on before. Odual only provide Japanese instruction. I don't think it was design to fit the top opening directly into the air box hole. It is suppose to just attached at edge. So if any hummid or water runs from the tube will link out from there. So that is how it is suppose to work. Top for Type I and Type II are the same. You might want to ask the person who first started this thread. He have installed Type I.

The first guinea pig answered the call
The top of the tube should be perfectly fit the front hole of the airbox. All you have to do is : rmove the front bumper. remove the factory in take pipe, let the hole on the front airbox wall exposured. Put on the odula pipe, in the package you should find a metal plate. You have to drill a hole on the front bar of bumber to fixed the tube. Then install the the front bumper back to the car, be sure the lower end opening of the tube was not obstructed by the bumper. Don't worry about the wet or something was sucked into the tube, the level of this opening is the same hight as the ECU cooling air intake.
Enjoy your "Mooooooooow".

Zaku,
Thanks for being all over this but I need you to clarify. The Odula just lines up with the stock intake box opening? Or should it fit in (or around) the opening?

By the way, took a test drive after install last night and laughed out loud cause I heard the "cow's roar".

I think it should "fit in " the opening. I did not remember the problem during that procedure but I had hard time on drilling a hole

I'm really pleased to report that the drop in intake temps is the real deal. Much as Taka confirmed the engine likes cold air. My butt dyno says go, my engine says "mooo" and the mpgs are 20mpg all city (I normally run 16-18 and have never seen 20 all city)

did anyone have trouble getting the odula to fit the stock airbox opening? mine doesn't seem wide enough to fit right.

They can be lined up and in my case the mouth of airbox is wider than the 1st version of Odula intake. So I can fit the tube inside the mouth of the airbox, not a tight fit and sealed but it is pretty good tube to tube opposition.
