Angry OMG!!! Can you believe it!!! 2KW gain from EMU

hi everyone~
I'm not asking for help nor commenting on product but this is my experience so far with my Sil-RX8. Six months ago I started moding the 8!!! First, I changed the suspension to HKS Hipermax III, well obviously that wasn't gonna gain any hp but was apart of the mod. Then I change the exhaust to HKS Legamax and K&N Typhoon II intake which changed the DB rates but not so sure wheather that made any gains. Then I picked up a set of Nology's and Exedy clutch from one of our good fellow members. Thanks Dustin!!! BUT this is where it all really starts... After all these slight mods, I decided to, well I felt I had to, change the ems. So when I was travelling in Asia, I decided to choose the E-manage Ultimate and bought that back... So there we go... Installed it... Tuned it... Guess what??? After all this money spent and time plus effort~~~ I gained 2 KWs from standard...OMG!!! What can I say~~~ I'm just sharing this to everyone but pls don't fight with me!!! I'm not commenting on anything nor anyone!!! Thanks!

you bought an rx8 so don't expect much gains from any kind of mods that arent FI. Even after all those mods, dont be suprised if you're car is slower than stock

Don't expect any power gain from an Emanage unless you tune the car.

your EMU cannot be tuned well - I got an extra 20rwhp from tuning alone .
Other mods helped also but only around another 5hp

Well Well... I just think the 8 is such a difficult car to gain power with... I mean, even if I had gone FI route, its not like other rotary series... A friend of mine has the Trust Turbo kit tuned on his 8 and he get less than 50% over stock... Plus its mos def not healthy for this particular engine!!! Its a bloody MSP Renesis... I actually have a FD3S Type R Bathurst as well... So I mean, u guys should of seen the look on my face after I got that 2KW gain on the 8... HAHAHA...

it's been expected that you really cant get much out of the greddy ultimate with this car.

If you remove all auxiliary power robbing devices off of the engine such as alternator, water pump, etc, remove the cat, tune it to within an inch of it's life, and run higher octane race fuels which allow for more aggressive tuning, a lightweight flywheel, small diameter clutch, etc, the most power you can ever get out of the engine is about 230 rwhp and that's just not easy. Admittedly everyone would probably be happy with that.

Powermod from Aussie - I'm sure your EMU could do the same job though.
see below . taking into account the low readings of a dyno dynamics - a pretty good result

The biggest question is how if your emu wired? Mazdamaniac has done more work on that unit in the RX-8 than anyone has and he made it work well with the car long before Greddy themselves did. He's a good person to talk to about setting it up properly.

you can make the same power with any piggyback given you tune for the same afr and ignition timing... just some are easier and more consistent then others

Yes, that is way off topic. Why would you ask that in the middle of a tuning thread, and expect an answer?
