Ordered the MS Dual Exhaust

Ordered the MS Dual Exhaust
Hope I like it... it was a hard pick between that and the racing beat, mainly wanted just little better sound, nothing to loud. So, for a savings of over $100.00 I went with the MS. Looks good.

Good choice, I was heavily considering this as well as the price was good.
I, on the other hand, made a last minute change and ordered the Greddy SP2 and got it for $519 total including shipping. Greddy seemed to have the biggest tips and I like big tips like I like big ****.
I hope it's not to loud w/ the RP supercat when I go to pick up my RP Supercat at Rotary performance early next week (I wish they were open on weekends).
Give us updates when you get it on...

I'm gonna give it a shot and replace if it gets to be to much...

Great, wish I had read the post about how bad this exhuast droans, I've already called and got an RA to return it before I even get it, the last thing I wanted was to be droaned to death.
Maybe I'm back looking at the racing beat.

I believe there was only one person who was complaining about the really bad droning, and it seemed like he just didn't like aftermarket exhaust sounds at all. He even mentioned he had another car (S2000 I think) with a louder-than-normal stock exhaust sound that annoyed him. So, I'm counting on the droning not being too bad, telling by other reviews that I've read so far. I'm installing it tonight and I'll post my impressions if anyone is interested!
Edit: Beat me to it, ZoomZoom.

Sure thing. Look for a response sometime tonight, after 8pm. I want to get it installed and take it for test drive around town and on the highway.

Well, I got it installed a little earlier than expected. First, I have to say I've never heard another aftermarket exhaust on an RX-8 -- besides the sound clips on the board -- so I don't much to compare it to. I started it up for the first time, and heard a subtle, deep rumble before the engine went to idle. The idle note is barely louder than the stock system, but as others have said, you know there's a little something extra there.
Also as others have pointed out, it's loudest when you step on the gas (obviously), particularly when you shift and the RPMs drop below 3000. So, even if you're taking it easy, you're gonna hear it for a few seconds until you start cruising. But the sound is pleasing, to me at least... pretty deep, slightly throaty and definitely agressive. When cruising, I was surprised how quiet it is -- really no louder than stock. So basically, you can turn some heads when you're accelerating, but it won't drone the brain out of your head on the highway. In fact, you'll forget about it. Now that I've heard it for myself, I'm very surprised about the posts saying that it drones badly. If this exhaust was loud and annoying at speed, then I'd remove it tomorrow. But it's not, so I'm very satisfied. We'll see if it gets any louder during it's break-in period.
As for the appearance, I'm very happy with it. The tips jut out a bit more than the stock, but it looks really good. I love the larger tips (and I know this is really nothing new to a lot of you), but it's amazing how much better the rear looks with the large tips. Mazda should have gone with these in the first place. I also like the slight angle, as opposed to the straight OEM tips. But that's about it for first impressions. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

Yeah, I wouldn't think mazdaspeed would release an uber loud exhaust not there style.
Good review.
