Yeah but for those prices you could just get a sequential transmission from saenz.

The Barrington link from Ebb above is your best shot for a bolt-in race trans. They can convert both the S1 and S2 trans to either Hewland or Webster dog ring gears & ratios

Or that too.

Saenz Europe claims to have a 5-speed dog box for the RX8

also a swoopy looking RX8 racing starter at the bottom left corner (and a 13B PP engine)

Holy crap. 10,000 euros for that engine.

Only a 5 speed though, and really not for track racing according to their info, only sprint and drag.

Let's see what OS comes back with from my email.

Well, no news from OS, but Saenz got back to me.

about 13K for there TT3 6 speed with dog gears.
It is however quite nifty in its interchagability. It almost like a trans for life kind of thing. The gear ratios are completely interchageable between 14mm gears and 18mm gears, so if you want to start with the 14 mm gears in low horsepower car and then decide to do a motor swap, with big horsepower, you swap out the bellhousing to suit the new motor, swap out the 14mm gears for the 18mm, and hey presto.
The also have functions like flatshifting and downshift throttle blip that can be integrated into the OEM ECU i believe. And for an extra 4K you can have a fully eletronically controlled paddle shift transmission. Bargain

I do think however that if you think of it as a lifetime investement its actually not that bad, considering you can just take it off and adapt it to your next car.

Apparently servicing and repair is incredibly easy too. Your average DIY'ist can strip it and rebuild it in a day they say.

It says right there, designed for drag, rally and sprint racing...

A sprint race is a road race that usually lasts in between 30 minutes and an hour, seems like it'd work perfect to me.

Here in Europe a sprint is more like a hillclimb/rally. A short dash between two points.

Ok so OS Giken have told me that neither OS USA or OS Japan have ever had any plans on making a gear set for the RX8. What they have done in Japan is retrofit an FD gearbox with OS gearsets, and that is where the confusion might have come. But definitely nothing specific for the RX8.

apparently the PAR gearset for the 1999-2005 Miata Aisin 6 spd fits the RX8, the main center gearbox housing is the same on both boxes but the bell housings and tail shaft housings are different:
