There are a whole group of posts on flywheel weights (try seaching on "LWFW" for light weight flywheel.)

There are also several threads on brake rotor and rotor weights as well as wheel weights.

I believe the stock hood is around 11-12 lbs. It is aluminum, so changing it out for another material like Carbon Fiber will not save much weight.

some of the above weights are incorrect. The wheels weigh in at ~22lb (see my garage for pics of the wheels being weighed, the tires are 26lb.

note: my battery is the smaller original one.

Tire Rack says the tire weighs 27 lbs. Must be the driving time wore away some rubber :D

What battery are you using, and how much (different) does it weigh ?

I'm trying to combine as much of the stock weight data as possible, then search for lighter counterparts, so I can project how much weight reduction can affordably be done to the 8. I know there are visitors here who have replaced many parts, it's just a matter of getting the information from them, If merging threads means there's a chance of fewer people seeing it, then I'm against it!

On the bridgestone web site, they say that our tires, 225/45/18 are 28lbs each

Merging threads helps people find information easier.
