People with AEM or MS intake !!!

My AEM screens came loose after some routine maintenance recently. Symptoms were very high STFTs, fluctuating between 19-25 and car was running super-lean when going open loop.
Here's an easy method that helps retain screens in the right place -
- Take the whole engine-bay section of the AEM piping off. From throttle body through to the front of the engine bay - leave the front most pipe that goes through the front of the engine bay in place - no need to remove the front bumper, etc.
- Push the front flexi joiner towards the front of the car so it slips all the way onto the front remaining pipe. The rear facing end of joiner and pipe should be flush to provide more room for re-installing the removed AEM piping. Silicon spray may help with this step.
- With the removed piping, re-assemble it with meshes in correct locations, I.e. gently sandwiched between each pipe in the assembly. Tighten the joiner clamps firmly so the screens won't move during reinstall.
- Reinstall the assembled AEM pipe starting with the rear joiner onto the throttle body, aligning the front of the re-installed pipe assembly with the already-installed front pipe. Slide the joiner backwards off the front pipe to clamp on to the front of the assembled pipe.
This is pretty common sense to anyone that's had to re-install their AEM more than once, but it still took me a bit of head scratching before figuring out how to install the pre-assembled AEM piping so that screens weren't displaced during installation.
