Performance Chip to good to be true???
I found this Surge Super Chip while looking for a GReddy Turbo on eBay. I figured I could get some feedback by just posting the site for everyone to take a look. I'm really debating on checkin it out, but not without some expertise behind this thing.

haha why do you say that Jedi? I have known quite a few people that put performance chips in their cars and everything seemed fine. Something different about our 8's I should know about?

our PCM is a bit too advanced to just throw a generic performance chip into it. Trust me, won't work.
If it did, you'd see a bunch of us with them.

There is however some development in the area of 'reflashing' the stock PCM. Check for a thread by Hymee (same guy who is about to release a supercharger)
www.racingbeat.com also offers a reflash

I was reading about that Racing Beat from the link you sent me, but I don't see myself sending ANYONE anything from my car. I don't care what they say they're gonna do. Is it really a trust worthy thing, is the gain even worth all that effort?

If your looking for a turbo kit, than no. The RB flash isnt worth it.. But if you are staying N/A, it could help you out.

Actually i am looking for a turbo kit so I guess the flash at this point would just be useless. Right now Im stuck between the SFR kit and the Mazsport kit. But I dont want to have to spend a whole bunch of money on extras either way. I have read up on both in just about every thread I could handle, but I still cant decide.

FYI: Racing Beat is hands down one of THE best companies out there. They've been working on Rotaries since dirt was invented and have done several joint ventures directly with Mazda. (guess who tuned Mazda's newest super car???)
As for turbo's. Mazsport is a good option, but you should definitely check out MazdaManiac's greddy upgrade.
