when you take it in for the recall are they supposed to change out the plugs and flash the ECU as a part of the deal?

Yeah, they replaced my gas tank strap, reflashed, and replaced the spark plugs. They replaced the plugs because i was saying that it took just a tad too long to start, they said that was why. When i was driving home, at a four way, my idle dropped very low, like 600 rpm, you could hear it wanting to turn off, so i engaged the clutch and revved a little to keep it from doing so. And I think like once or twice it took a little to start, but now it's working fine. I'm planning on replacing the wires with MSD. I have them, i just need to install them.

I took my car in last week I have an 06 and they replaced the plugs, replaced the battery, and I believe replaced my cat (they said something like "it had to be replaced because the rough Idle and the rough start up I was having damaged it") and then they flashed it, it seems to pull harder to me, I just never went ahead and dynoed it cause it's not a priority to me.

So far to me it seems like the top end changed. I've been driving around a bit over the past few days and noticed it just wants to keep going. On my way to work today I looked down and noticed I was going 92mph in a 65 zone... It just had a nice little purr and totaly got away from me. Maybe that was from the plugs, or a better afr from the flash, beats me.

heh, are you sure it's not your foot being heavy? most Rotary owners have one, a heavy foot. I let a friend, that's like a brother to me, drive my 8, and he said, "damn, it's hard not to drive fast." dunno, just a suggestion out of humor?

I did get my Recall done on Sept. 19. I Was using 87 octane and honestly I didnt feel anything on the butt dyno. But about a week ago. Gas prices went down under 3 bucks so I put 91 octane in it... I must say.. when I did I noticed a BIG difference. I have not gotten my car dynoed but it was noticeable when I tryed 91 octane.. Its kinda odd. Because when i started useing 87 octane before the recall I did not notice any performance changes good or bad.. but after the recall going back up to 91 AWWW CHEA... big difference. Only Mods I have is Greddy exhaust. AEM CAI. and RP SUPERCAT..

Yeah, I was impressed til I got to his sig.

As for the comments on the dyno. In general Mustangs run low but sometimes, depending on calibration, they can be similar to dynojets. As others have pointed out, the only way to really know is to have something to compare the runs to.

I am inclined to agree with this comment.

I Dyno'ed at 183.4 wHP and I only have a Greddy exhaust and K&N air filter...Nothing else. I am sure I could get to 203 wHP with a super cat + flywheel + pulleys on this Dyno.

I do not remember what type of Dyno I went on but I do remember that it was a single Drum and it was built into the floor of the shop. Also, they could not read my engine speed (RPM) nor could they give me a torque number. So its possible I may have put out a bigger number...who knows.

All on regular gas as well? I know that my car doesn't like regular at all. It would be interesting to see a few runs on premium fuel.

RC: Yeah, I'm probably going to get the RB flash here in a few months after the winter season subsides. After that I'll get a dyno again.

CK: the closest track to me is a 1/8 mile and I really am not intrested in running on a 1/8th.

I really love to see this

my car dyno at a very healthy 192 rwhp in a dynojet 100% stock, and im keeping up with very fast cars, my goal is 220 rwhp NA.
