I think it's mostly due to weight. Also, it could possibly deliver a different sound... but don't take my word for it.

are you serious??
titanium tips is strictly for looks, why would they need to reduce weight on the tips?
also, it does nothing for the sound.

now if your exhaust was completely titanium, like the mufflers and pipes, then yes, it's for weight reduction above all else.

Titanium has NOTHING to do with shooting flames....Like was mentioned before, stock can shoot small flames. If you just have a catless midpipe it will be easier.

I thought the process for shooting flames was heating the tips of the mufflers by driving at high rpms and then reving to 9000 rpms then letting go of the gas. The unburnt fuel is ignited by the hot tips. Is this not true?

u cannont have back fire until the heat or source of ignition is hot enough, and source of air. So yeah having really hot tips and then revving up 9k can possibly ignite unburnt fuel when it reaches the air outside the tip.

if you really wanna shoot flames that bad just get a custom header back pipe with no exhaust canister. I bet you will shoot so much flames that the rear end of your 8 catches on fire!

you also have another option where you can just get a flamethrower kit from ebay or something... shoot flames whenever you want and wherever you want!

for the whole exhaust system being titanium, you are looking at the exhaust being atleast 3 times the price of the SE or maybe even 4 times...
