Pulley and Flywheel fitting times
Hi all,
Im hopefully getting an ACT Prolite flywheel and the agency power underdrive pulleys for my baby.
Can some of you give me a realistic idea how much time a good pro garage should take to carry out each fitting for me, so I can gauge the expense?
Cheers

Both are straightforward typical installs, however....
The tranny has some electrical connections on the top that need to be removed prior to dropping.
And the Power Plant Frame needs to be re-installed in the same exact location. This is accomplished by noting the marks left from the bolts.

Hi all Flywhee owners... I thought I would ressurect this.
I have a Racing Beat Flywheel (and Hymee grills) to be fitted now, fitting is next week. AP Pulley is cancelled cos it wont gel with a supercharger.
Do any flywheel veterans have any tips about removing the old flywheel in case its seized or anything?

Three tools you'll need are a long bar with holes drilled in it to put on to the existing flywheel to keep it from turning and a 1-1/8" socket, and a flywheel puller. Racing beat sells all three.

Hi Charles , thanks a lot for the offer.
A Mazda specialist shop is doing it..they mainly do RX7's tho and Im not sure how much experience they have with 8's
They obviously know how to drop the tranny etc and do the change, I just thought people might have some "insider" jammed flywheel tips I can share with the dude. Im gonna be there for the whole swap session.
Thanks to the other tips too.
Obviously the tools from RB wont make it in time from the US and im guessing the shop has plenty nuff toolage anyway!

My miss on the socket size. It was a while ago and I lost my socket in the house move. Thanks for the correction Charles. The guy I did my swap with had done 7's previously and said the same thing, they're the same. If the guy is familar with the 7 he'll be right at home with 8 as long as he takes all the wires off before dropping the tranny.

thanks for the tips so far.
The garage guy was not able to fit me in yet, so the flywheel is sitting at home taunting me...grrr
At least the fact the mechanic was busy encouraged me to fit the Hymee grills myself. Good practice and saved some cash.
Flywheel will now have to wait to jan to fit it.....
Ill report back afterwards

Cheers for all the advice fellas.
Shop guy did it today, and charged me for 4 1/2 hours labour/ (The outside I was prepared to accept, but I was still a little gutted!)
Time for some driving to see what goes on now!
It feels faster especially in 1st and 2nd, and also mad fast at top of revs now.
BUT I dont want to give "placebo effect" review so ill check it for next few days!
