pulleys wast of money?

I'd suggest you do some research and decide for yourself. But in my opinion I don't think they are worth the price for any gain you may get. The gain will be minimal and you might as well save the money for something else, unless of course you just have money to waste.

If you get the lightweight pulley sets, then yes. I would imagine if it's an underdrive pulley (Agency Power), then at least you would be lowering parasitic loss. I know it's not much power to be gained, but for the single pulley it's pretty inexpensive.

I have the AP pulley (was on the car when I bought it) and it's exactly what others say: faster revs, no real difference in power -- maybe 5-6hp from under-driving your A/C, water pump, alternator.
However, I like the faster revs. Especially when I'm down-shifting. Would I spent $200 on it? Probably not. But if you happen to run across a used one for cheap on the forums (like $60 or so), then go for it.

0.5\0.6hp maybe
A lightweight flywheel barely frees up 5\6hp and it reduces rotating mass by a huge amount compared to a pulley, and it does it off from the center.
The pulley's diameter and weight is the reason why they don't work as advertised. There are cars with heavier pulleys and in that case you might gain something

A pully may not reduce weight, but you can change the size and underdrive the accessories. This is good for a race car. It may not be so good for a street car. Underdriving the accessories can lead to over heating and not properly charging the battery.

That is my reason for not getting a set

Granted, my experience with pulleys is very directly related to ZX2s and nothing else, I have had very good luck with them, on three different cars. With a 20% under drive, the only time you are really affecting power output and cooling ability is idle. All other times, everything works as well as it would either way.
On my ZX2, I had a 40% underdrive. I'm in Louisiana, and drove it for two summers. Never had a problem with overheating, and never had a problem with battery charging. Granted, most of my driving is highway, with a couple miles of city in between... But man, the summers out here are rough.
I'm fairly certain the 8 would do fine with a slightly lower water pump speed, and if you aren't running a system, the alternator should be putting out enough juice to not worry about it. If you are in stop and go all the time though... It's probably time for a Prius or something else as gay.

Pulleys
These guys clam to get 12 Hp. I'm planning on picking up there GT2 power package (High flow cat and pullys). I'll dyno it to see if the power numbers are accurate.

I recently sold my SR pipe to get the BHR and I have to say the SR pipe served me well for years. I actually had a small crack repaired and resold it to another member. Not sure about their other stuff by the pipe was well made. The only problem I see with their products is price.

I had mines for a couple of years without any problems, i bought them used for $80, I would never buy them new unless they are on sale. i don't really notice a gain of HP or faster rev, just my 2 cents
