pullies pullies
I been looking for a pulley kit and I just dont know I been seeing greddy and others for around $150 but then I found these wide pulley kits on SR motorsports for around $450 I really dont know what to do.. I like greddy but there has got to be some kind of difference in the kits. please help me find a pulley kit with the best performance and best bang for the buck.

I have the SR Pullies, I don't know if I gained any HP but they look nice and match my Revi intake.
They're other sets for cheaper out there.

not totally sure about this but from what I read - only pullies with underdrive will give you any hp increase . The stock pullies are pretty light alrerady. The agency power is good value because it is just the crankshaft pulley .

I looked at the agency pulley set and seen them for $150 but then there is a unorthodox pulley set on the site that says they are better for around $350 I really have no clue if this is true or not.

Why don't you go get your car dyno'd then buy the unorthodox pulley and then dyno your car again and post the charts so we can see what unorthodox pulleys will do. I did that with the Agency pulley and got a ton of low end hp gain. I am curious to see if the unorthodox set does any better since they lighten up the other pulleys as well.

I have the SR Motorsports pullies on my RX-8. If you must get Pullies, I would suggest UR ones and save yourself a couple of hundred dollars.
On a regular piston car these work just fine because they have a heavy harmonic balancer. The RX-8 does not. Reducing weight on the crank shaft increases HP to the rear wheels...or reduces inefficiencies that reduce HP from the Rear Wheels. A standard harmonic balance on my 1992 300zx must have weighed ~ 21lbs and I replaced that with an aluminum unit that weighed ~ 4-5lbs or so. That is where the performance gain is to be had. RX8's underdrive crank pulley must weight ~ 1.25lb stock.

I think this is a "Did Not Search" record!
The first post in this section is a sticky with the word "Pulleys" in it.
