(Q) intake
Ok so before any flamers wanna have a field day, I've checked and searched and haven't found anything exactly like this. I'm wondering if I would see any adverse effects of adding a k&n intake cone to the stock intake...ill be keeping the maf intact as well basically taking the stock drop in out. Also I will look to fabricate a cylindrical cover so it wont take in any hot air. Please respond with any information I should know about. Thank you!

If you plan to take the stock airbox out and replace just put a cone filter there... it's stupid. Don't do it.
If you want to replace just the panel filter, keeping the oe airbox... There's still no need to do so. It would also be hard to keep the stock bellmouth intact.
You have just lot to lose and nothing to gain with such a mod.

Not true about "modding just cuz" I love the way it looks and sounds and I was just wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea. Sorry not everyone is an A+ mechanic like you apparently are.

If you want to hinder performance based on sound and looks, it is certainly your prerogative. It is however, general consensus that the stock air box is superior to most aftermarket designs. Its a common misconception that stock is not best. But when it comes to engineering an engines intake system, the people that design them are a lot smarter than most of us.
