Question for those with Cocksport exhaust

Hello
I want to upgrade my stock exhaust to an aftermarket one. I am not looking for any hp gain since most won't give you much gain anyway. What I am looking for is a more sporty sound to match the way the car look. I really like Cocksport exhaust. I have never hear the sound in person. I wonder if any of you have the sound clip of this exhaust. I am at work and can't download quicktime on my computer so the one that is already on this web is not working for me. I also want to know how loud is this exhaust compare to stock. Is it loud enough to be bother while driving on highway with window close or during normal driving shifting gear around 4000 rpm? Does it drone at a certain RPM? And how easy is the installation? Thanks.

I can't help you with a review of that particular exhaust as I have never heard/seen one in person.
I can tell you that you should think about changing the second "c" in Cocksport from a "c" to an "r". Unless you were trying to be funny.

I was going to ask if this exhaust had to be welded or it were a strap-on model. But never mind!

We talked to the Corksport reps at Sevenstock and they're currently working on getting some good sound clips loaded to their website. It's pretty cool looking in person. Sorry, that's the only help I can provide. :o

I've heard this exhaust twice. Once at the Racing Beat open house, and another time at Mazfest. At Mazfest, I believe he was running a midpipe, and it was CRAZY loud. Like ear drum popping loud. I'm not sure how it would be with the stock cat, or a hi-flow cat unit with a resonator, but it is definitely louder than either of my exhausts (Racing Beat, now JIC Titanium).

Beers,
Yes, please give me update on how you like this exhaust. The main concern I have is the droning noise inside the car at certain rpm. How loud is it inside the car when you drive leisurely? Say shifting at 4000 rpm and drive around 3000 rpm. I love the look of the exhaust. It doesn't have that huge coffee can look and it seems to sound pretty good from video clip that I heard from Spin5 website. I used to have apex N1 with custom piping in my 3000GT VR4 and there is annoying drone at around 2000 rpm. So bad that I have to open the window to kind of letting the sound out of the car. Thanks.

I have the exhaust, had it for 6 months now, and yes there is (was) a resonance at about 3K at part throttle. The solution in the 8 is to sound mat the trunck area (there is literally no sound material back there at all), and once that's done, the exhaust exhibits no resonances noticeable inside the car. After that I can't think of a better exhaust sound I've heard, not to mention how beautiful a thing to look at it is and listen to on a daily basis in all type of traffic and situations.

Have you considered HKS if you're worried about being too loud?

Hi,
Where can I get the sound mat? Can I get them at Autozone or other automotive store? I ordered the exhaust two days ago and I should have it by next monday or so. Spin9K, I love watching those race video on your website. You are awesome driver. One of the main reason I buy this exhaust is because I view your video too much. It does sound really good. I look at other exhaust but they are just too expensive and heavier than the corksport. Thanks for the reply.

What size do I need (L X W) for Dynamat to fit in the trunk of the RX-8? Which model of dynamat do you recomment? The dynamat extreme seems to be the most reasonable one? Thanks.
