quietest midpipe for my setup?

Hey, so I may need to be replacing my catalytic converter due to mine clogging and getting hot enough to actually set the side of the console and carpeting smoldering. All the damage is being covered by insurance but I may need to replace the cat at my own expense. So my question is what would the quietest midpipe be paired with my borla exhaust? I don't care if its resonated, dual-resonated, highflow cat, supercat or whatever other kinds there are, I just want the quietest as this is my daily driver and I already liked how it sounded with just the borla catback. I've done a lot of searching and most threads seem to be about performance and I haven't been able to find a good answer. Thanks for the help.

Well if you're looking for the same sound that you previously had, cant you just put up a WTB thread in the FS/WTB section for a used oem cat? Ask around, many people here will sell you their oem cat in good working condition for a fraction of what it costs new

I think only two of them come to mind: BHR Midpipe or the Racing Beat Dual-Resonated Midpipe

Gut the OEM pipe. I did not notice much difference in sound.

So what hi-flow cats are there available? I only know of the RP supercat, gutting the OEM one is probably a good solution until I get something different or find a used OEM I guess.

yeah rhe rp supercat is the best hi-flow cat out there...

Looks like your options are:

1)Used OEM Cat / Gutted OEM
2)RP Hi-Flow Cat
3)BHR / Mazsport / RB catless but quiet midpipes

The new Racing Beat (dual-resonator) mid-pipe is slightly quieter than the MazSport.
You have to here them rev side by side to even tell the difference.

Those aren't your only choices... I have the agency power dual resonated midpipe with the borla catback. The sound isn't as sharp as the borla with stock cat and is louder but only has a very light drone on moderate throttle. Although if your main goal is to remain quiet just get another stock cat. A 'high flow' cat will be a lot deeper and louder than the stock. So if keeping it quiet is your main concern just stick to OEM.

I have the RB dual-resonated pipe with RB Rev8 catback. I used to have the Mazsport before, and the RB is lots better (better clearances with exhaust tunnel, quieter at idle and cruise). The Mazsport welds were damn near perfect though. The BHR should be lighter than RB since it has only 1 resonator, although I'm not sure how it would compare with the RB sound-wise.

Cork Sport should have a single and dual res pipe for sale in a week or so. Also BHR (forum vendor) has a single res pipe coming out that is quiet.

I agree, the MazSport welds were pretty good and I wasn't too impressed with Racing Beat's.
RB is going to be a difficult pipe to beat IMO.

When we had two cars side-by-side (one with MazSport and one with RB) and had them take turns revving, the tone was so close I couldn't justify selling my MazSport pipe to get the RB.
But I was very impressed overall.
