Olddragger and I will be replacing my analog gauges with digital this Saturday. I just can't decide which digitals to purchase. I will stop by Summit Racing on the way down to Macon.

I like the idea of this gauge pod... I was even thinking about trying to fabricate something like this myself for a while.

Just out of curiosity, am I the only person that has reservations about plumbing hot pressurized oil and water into the cockpit? On a related note, does anybody know of any good looking gauges with remote sending units that would fit in this pod?

Edit: Just found Jedi's DIY: RB Gauge Pod + Nordskog thread... don't know how I missed it. Looks very nice, although I do prefer analog style gauges.

Some of us have used a stainless steel fuel line to pipe the oil to the cabin.
I have not experianced any leaks.

I was not crazy about the mechanical gauges so I went with Autometer Cobalt which are electric. See the attached images. The main reason I went with the Cobalt gauges is that I have the identical set installed in my RX-7 and I didn't want to have to make an adjustment each time I went from one car to the other.

if you are tracking your car, it is almost useless even if you only move your head and look at them on a long straight, especially if you are wearing a close-face helment & a neck collar.

I agree that it's not in a convenient place to see at a glance, but I also think that the types of gauges people are typically putting here (water/oil temp) aren't something you'd really want to be staring at constantly anyway. I guess on a track car that's tuned right to the ragged edge it might be important to keep on eye on the temps during runs, but I view them more as a diagnostic tool to gauge how other modifications you've made to the car have affected the general trend of the temperatures. If it also happens to look cool, bonus

Well, I track my car and I don't find them useless. I can glance down at them on the front straight and get the info I need without a problem. I will agree that up on the dash would be better though. When I purchased mine, There was not a pod that replaced the entire dash piece and I was not going to cut my dash for a pod. So, I chose the RB pod for that reason.

About the hot oil inside the car. I used the braided stainless line and never had a problem with oil but I did replace the analog oil pressure gauge with an electronic one and got rid of the oil inside the car. I didn't do it because of possible oil but because the gauge would never stop rattling and fluctuating all the time. It was noisy and a pain in the *** to see.

I'm VERY pleased with the electronic version of the oil pressure but the water & oil temp is still the analog.

i may have looked over it when reading through this, arnt the guages that come from RACING BEAT in the pod smaller then a normal gauge. like say im cheap and go to autozone and buy the autometer guage they have on shelf. will it fit? or are they bigger? what im saying is i want just the pod, then buy my own guages to go in it.

I been looking for gauges for ages now, I really don't find any gauges I want.
I want 3, Oil temp, Oil Pressure, Water temp.

Its have to be a 270 degree gauge with clear lens with red nidle in size 52mm (2 1/16)
Some thing like this one:

Any advise?

I been thinking of those, but the lens are smoked.
Same with DEFI gauges, and they are really expensive too.

Omori gagues would be perfect, but I heard that they are out of business.
But arent there any other gauges with black face and red nidle and not smoked?
