Can't believe there aren't any pics of the headers on here, if you wanna see the RB headers in all their glory here you go:

http://www.cflrx8club.com/viewtopic....er=asc&start=0

This are not the "prototype pics" BS I've seen posted before, these are the real deal, Enjoy

lots of bends in the design I hope it doesn't hurt the flow.

As long as there are no kinks the bends will not hurt flow. Mandrel bending keeps the kinks out. Proper length and transition is more important.

I wonder how the no overlap of the Renesis affects header design in terms of the length of the runners and where they collect.

I had this header on my old nonturbo Rx-7:

but on that car there are very restrictive precats, which the header replaces, and I had porting which makes the header more effective.

exactly- the bends are there to create the proper length and still have the pipes collect at the proper place

I had a similar one on my 7. The exhaust system I bought from Rotary Engineering (now gone) didn't collect until near the rear axle. I believe that if you look at RB's tech manual for the first gen 7, you will see they found that the best point to put the collector was over 100" from the engine.

It's on their site for sale and on Mazdatrix site for sale as well $495. They are saying it makes 4hp on their engine dyno.

thats actually the case here as well. if you talk to them about the different designs they tried the one that could make the most power was the one they can t produce- the one that would collect past the cat

Interesting. So to get the most out of your exhaust you'd have to move the cat. back further. Now that they have the header out maybe they can come up with a 2 pipe system with a relocated cat.

cant relocate cat because it wold not pass CARB because the cat would not get to temp soon enough. thats why the cat is so far forward to begin with
