I would consider getting it wrapped. That thing sees enough heat to make it expand and contract quite a bit, so ceramic coating may crack and fall off over time.

When I ordered mine, the guy at racing beat told me to just leave it the way it is. Wrapping it may cause it to crack because of the very high exhaust temp. Would be nice if there is a heat shield made for use with this header.

why is that sad almost every other aftermarket part for that price gives you the same results....
Plus the sound alone is worth half the cost...
Pluss if your SC'd expect 8-10whp...

Some people look at it from the standpoint that it's sad that the Renesis doesn't really see much in the way of power gains from mods. I prefer to look at it from a different perspective and think that I'm glad it's power is up from the last naturally aspirated rotary of the same size's power rating of 160 and that it does it cleaner. Mazda did a great job of giving us an engine that utilizes most of it's potential. It's the engines that don't realize their potential that are easy to see gains on.

Exactly! Every Time I see a K&N add where some Dodge product got 30whp from an intake all I can think is. Jesus couldn't Dodge spend 10 minutes properly designing the intake from the factory? Why do I have to pay another $300 to get that 30hp.

Easy hp=crappy OEM design.

heh. yeah.

but seeing as how the chevy LSx engines mod so easily, part of me thinks they do it because most of the camaros dont need more horsepower, as long as it can beat a mustang gt, right? and part of it has to do with keeping the aftermarket economy alive.

but seriously.. LS1, going with a throttle body that is 10cm larger gives you 20whp? thats just nuts. spend a few grand and you are riding around on 400whp.

It's not worth posting. My engine was not making power due to lack of compression. You will need to find somebody else, or wait until I get a new engine, break it in, and then dyno the results.

Good call. Seen the same thing with the 240's and 2jz's.

I have a header from DNA Motorsports and it is ceramic coated. No problems with the header or the coating cracking. Its my understanding the RB header is very thick, its very unlikly IMHO that it would crack. However it would be best to talk to the ceramic coater about it.

You can call Racingbeat or email them. The contact info. is on their website. www.racingbeat.com They have a customer service line and could probably tell you right away. I'm not sure if anyone here has tried it on an '09 yet.

They are going to make a blocking plate for the secondary air pump injection port for those that run their cars at the track, and have deleted as much components as possible to shed weight. Should be several weeks before it is completed.

^-- care to explain a bit more? Is it just an emissions thing? Like good for street or not? Just a bit confused.

The port on the header where the secondary air pump connects, is emissions related to help the cat lite off on cold starts by pumping air into the exhaust. If you have your car setup for track only, and you want to run the RB header, and you want to eliminate weight and none essential components, like the pump, then you need something to block the port on the header.
