Aaah.. I see. So essentially catless people would benefit here. And he said couple of weeks? I wonder if it's cheaper then the standard one

The header remains the same. He is making a plate that bolts over the port.

..which you said 80 times. lol. My mistake. Do you think that would be a extra upon request with purchase of header?

Jim Langer said he will have a price soon for me, but I bet they might just add it to the hardware that the header comes with already. At least that is what I would do.

LOL

BTW - my header is making an awesome sounding 8 with my dual exhaust from RB. It sounds like an exotic!

Are you Catless? Louder or just different?

Is there a difference in performance of the header if you are catless?

pdxhak remember the dyno?

Yes, I am running the dual resonated catless midpipe currently on the track. The performance difference of a header with no cat is there, just hard to explain. I would not revert back if that is what you are asking.

I did not realize you had the RB header on then! It sounded great on the dyno

Did the header make it louder or just change the sound to something different?

Just installed my RB header and have to say it sounds pretty good. More of a hollow sound. I also have to add it feels stronger on low (3-4k) rpm's then it did, enough to really notice.

Thats what I want to hear. It's always good to hear that the guys at RB are pushing rotary motors more and more.

awe-some-err: The transition whereby something that was already in a state of awesomeness increases its awesomeness factor by installing a Racing Beat Header.

It doesn't seem louder, just different. I had a midpipe before and after install so it might make it louder if you still have your cat.

I know somebody asked for pics installed a few pages back so here are some pics from my cell.
Sorry for the crappy quality, but it gives you an idea.

First the stock manifold vs RB

Manifold off. Notice the egr tube

Surprisingly I Drove 30mins (sprinted driving) to my shop to replace a motor mount I cross-threaded and by the time I got it into the air I could touch the manifold. Seems to be hottest at the collector (not surprising) and at the split of at my MS mufflers. I'm not sure it will create too much more heat then it already did, but maybe

maybe the air cools this faster than the stock unit? Dont know--i have seen another header get red hot on the dyno (little air flow). i was thinking setting in traffic hot. during moving it probably be ok.
it looks like a nice piece. olddragger
