Thumbs up Racing Beat midpipe

Installed my Racing Beat double res midpipe tonight. It was a pretty easy install and only took about an hour total. Quality was great and the fitment was perfect. I have it paired with the factory cat-back. It sounds pretty much stock at idle, and is a little bit deeper up top in the rpms. It definitely pulls harder and also has an interesting popping sound between shifts. So far its a great product and I would recommend it to anyone else with an RX8.

Sounds like it would be raspy, going with an aftermarket exhaust?

It actually sounds pretty good.
We have a local who has it with an AP catback.

I have a TurboXS catback and midpipe and it smells horrible and droney and loud as all hell. Will this midpipe make it a little better in regards to sound and smell?

The only thing I really don't like is the smell inside the car. It wreaks of exhaust. Even with the windows up.

I mean that it would probably be raspy with the factory exhaust not with an aftermarket one

Just get a Davesport 100CPI cat installed in your midpipe. Won't have as bad of a smell.

There's no raspy what-so-ever with the midpipe and stock exhaust. Yea, it does have a slight smell when I'm sitting at a stoplight for a few minutes if I have the sunroof open. I just got the windows tinted today so I can't put them down for a few days. Hopefully it will smell less as all the penetrating oil burns off that I used on the bolts. Had a little scare today, i took 2nd to 9200 and shifted into third, loud pop from the exhaust and then the car hesitated for a second. At first I thought I might have blown a seal but it's still driving perfect.

I've also found that if I switch the air to cabin circulation only it pretty much eliminates any exhaust smell while sitting at a stoplight.

I would say its about 10 lbs ligher than the stock midpipe. The stock one is heavy as hell.

Yea, it came on after 20 miles. Reset the ECU wt my COBB and came back again right away. Later this summer I'm going to do the RB intake and duct, along with AP UDP. Then I'll get the MM e-tune and have him get rid of the engine code.
