The first ones offered around three years ago were a waste as the designers/companies didn't take a minute to look at how the rear heated O2 sensor worked on the 8. I mailed Blake and he assured me that the sensor he offers wil specifically work on the 8 and he has on-line instructions and an explanation as to how it works. Check out the site and if you're not convinced, don't get one. The only problem with running around and having a CEL is that it may mask other problems at the same time. Otherwise, it's no big deal.

Thanks!

the 20 brake stomp always resets the KAM. in the beginning there was no oil guage sweep. mazda added that with the L flash so there would be an indicator. it appears that for some reason statics sweep has been disabled. whether from the flash or some other reason is still up in the air.

static it might be something wrong with your remote that is causing the flashing indicator. try changing its battery.

i have had the flash done twice now- in the first group of beta's and again just recently finally after it was removed by Mazda's Recall Flash( i knew this would happen and allowed it to happen) some time ago.

Each time i shipped it out on a tuesday morning( both times a holiday week where the post office was closed on monday) and both times i shipped it priority mail which is next day delivery mostly and cost @ $18.00. Each time i was able to put the PCM back in the car friday.

I have not had an issue at all with the car starting afterwards as it has fired like normal each time. I have not had any issue with the alarm indicator or any other. The car just runs better, sounds better and feels better(some of that is in my head i know but i swear i can hear the difference)

the only thing now is i lost a bolt for the pcm cover(which i readily replaced with one i had laying about) somewhere i havent found yet. it may be down in the fan shroud i havent dug that far - all i know is it fell down under the battery box and i nearly had it and it fell again but didnt end up on the under tray.

I was wondering, I only have the stock tech on the car so I dont know how correct it is. Does the RB flash still have a fuel cut with the higher RPMs? That 9kto10 comes up very fast I didnt want to damage anything if I pushed too hard.

Hey Charlie,
If someone from SoCal just drove over to RB, do you think they'd just yank the PCM out right there and take care of it for the customer? (assuming of course they called in advance to make sure they were available)

I spoke with RB about it before. They want just the ECU and you need to schedule a time to show up. I would just park on the street, pull it out, and then go in. I plan on going to get it before the dyno session we are having.

I got my tach to point to the three o'clock position once, and I didn't have the RB flash. Try shifting into 2nd gear at 80 mph.

Sorry about the lack of dyno guys. Since thursday it has snowed like 11" here. Next week it looks to be 50s here, and you gotta believe I'm trying to get it on that dyno asap.

Do you know what CEL you have ?

I just got mine back today. installed, ran a few miles and all I gotta say is

WoW !

Damn, power is smooth thru the whole RPM, and you can tell the car pulls harder, especially after 5.7K RPM all the way to 9300 rpm.

I don't know what CEL i have, time to buy the can scan thing i guess.

my disappointing news is:

my car now makes 194.8 hp.

thats a loss of 9 hp.

My car does feel faster, and I like the faster.

But with the constant on security light, CEL and now my car making 9 hp less on the same dyno. I would have to NOT recommend this product. Will post graph and vids in a few hours.
