nope wont polish out ive tried. As far as loud.. it isnt.. nice and low deep tone. I love it. I didnt want anything that was overbearing when I drive, well see though Im going to order my mid pipe in a week or so. That should make it a bit louder.

Yep, turns gold from heat. Not sure if that's a plus or minus.

The stainless steel tip on my FD's exhaust did the same thing. I think its just one of those things that happens...there is probably a way to clean it up, but it will just continue.

It is a plus IMO. At least it looks great on my Red 8. Update us when you get the mid pipe. I am intersted in knowing how it sounds.

the midas touch?

thanks for the post. I'm looking at the RB also and this is great info. I'd be kinda bent if my tips that I tought were supposed to be chrome and shinny, turned gold, and I had no good explination why.

Did you call RB to find out why? Is this something that only RB exhaust tips do?

After looking at the pics again, it doesn't look that bad.

That is something very common with stainless steel as it gets hot. It will go from silver to blue to purple if it gets hot enough. This is really most evident on headers though since there is so much heat there. There isn't anything you can do about it other than painting or powercoating it. Just stop lying under your car admiring your exhaust all day!

well, I don't have a RB exhaust, but the tips on my HKS exhaust have also turned gold.

I guess the rotary just has the Midas touch

Very cool didnt think the mothers would take it out. I really dont mind the gold tint at all just wanted to make sure everyones had done the same. I had heard that RB might be making their catback with heat treated tips to prevent the color change but I guess they decided against it obviously.
