Not on mine. You probably don't have the REVi seated just right. You can lift up on the backend of it while tightening it. I had to do the same thing for the RAM on the front because I had a gap, but once I loosened a couple of bolts it fell right into place and I just tightened it all back up.

Does anyone have any aftermarket front bumpers WITH the RB Ram Air Duct ? I'm getting the MS front bumper and I was wondering if the bigger grille would expose the RAM Air Duct in any way.

Well I have done my first fill-up since installing the RB RAM and Air Box. Intake noise is a bit loud but I'm getting to where I like it. As stated in an earlier post the install was easy.

Mileage from the last fill-up before the mod was about 18.3. The fill-up today was 20.4. Of course this includes a good number of WOT accelerations to 8K noise tests. I will try and reduce the number of such tests with the current tank.

I have also done some sensor monitoring and I find that the intake temp is down between 10 and 15 degrees from what it was before the install, so this is a very good benefit of this mod.

Interesting... I don't really hear too much of a difference. A faint whistling maybe, but generally speaking, my intake sound didn't change significantly. At WOT it is indeed somewhat louder, but not much.

I can't comment on mileage yet since I only drove some 70 miles with the REVi and air duct installed, but so far it seems to bring better fuel economy (if you could believe the fuel gauge which we know isn't accurate). In 200 miles, I will see. That might take me several weeks seeing that I only drive the car on weekends recently

I have also done some sensor monitoring and I find that the intake temp is down between 10 and 15 degrees from what it was before the install, so this is a very good benefit of this mod.
I definitely can attest that the intake box is much cooler to the touch after driving than the stock box was.

hey guys, my names chris and im a friend of Marks (Polak). last weekend we put this on his car. Took about what they say, a good hour, mabye more. He said instantly that the car felt better... smoother, i just took his word for it. As far as the sound goes... when we got back to his house after testing it, he asked me to go to the front to feel if it sucks in air, and when he revved it, i fell backwards is shock. The thing is loud as hell from the grill and sounds like a pissed off trex about to kill something, litterely, you dont notice as much driving the car, but from outside its pretty badass. Just thought i would let you guys know.

I have had mine installed for about 2 weeks now. I am just going through my first tank of gas after the installation. I have put on just over 200 miles and I have more than a 1/3 of a tank of gas left. I have been doing baout 50% city and 50% highway driving. It seems to drive a little smoother, I dont notice any noise difference but I had my revi installed a month or so before. I think I just got used to it. The last note I dd reset the ecu prior to the install.

Now I need to install the Greddy exhaust laying in the garage.

You're a riot today, so did anyone else like the sound of the intak b4 the ram air? If you redline it and your directly infront of the car it sounds a little loud for my tastes? Inside the car I only notice a little change at 100% throttle and high rpm.

Ok here is my update, I drove unitl the gas light came on. I got 282.4 miles out of the tank! I typically only was averaging 230 - 240 miles per tank. I am assuming there are a few factors to this. The first is the drop in intake tempatures, and I am assuming that the car at speed is running a tad bit leaner. In a week or so we will put a test pipe on the car and I will post what I find. So far I am very happy with adding this, I would recommend anyone get this even if they have the stock airbox.

This RB REVi Box and RAM intake is loud! At least from stock. I can't relate it to other intakes...sorry. Not unreasonable however, as long as you don't get on it too hard. If you are in an area where the sound reflects back to you, like a bridge underpass or tunnel and get on it, the noise is really something once you reach 6000. I'm not sure what it sounds like from outside..haven't had anyone drive the car for me to hear and I'm not sure I ever will....lol. Perhaps I can get Tim to drive it for me...maybe just to make him feel better about all the mods' impacts on his 8.

Intake temp is reduced...for me abut 10 degrees on average and the mileage does seem to be better then before the mod. Half a tank on the gauge is about ~130 miles, whereas before I was lucky to get right 100. Not enough miles/times to be certain on the mileage impact.

I've gotten better mileage as well, the RAM Air is much louder then only REVI itself, just last night i was in a parking garage in Menlo Park and I popped it to 9K in neutral and set off 8 or 9 car alarms.

Sound was really quite something.

Anyone wonder about washing your front grille and getting water into the ram duct? I did this weekend, and I just let it evaporate.

Not a concern. There are drain holes at the back of the RAM and a little water won't hurt anything. You have to know that driving in the rain will get water in the ram too.

Ooh, I can't wait, I ordered mine last week. With just the REVi and RB catback, one of my favorite things to do is wind it up in one of the local parking garages...its sounds like I'm at a Formula 1 race! All that, and no droning with the windows up and tooling around town....gotta love it.

Anyone with a Mazdaspeed front bumper and the REVi Cold Air Intake? Will it work? I assume the answer is yes.

Don't see why it shouldn't - unless the installation of the MS nose requires the removal of the styrofoam bumper support. Which is probably not the case.

CAI instal;led this weekend

Finally got around to putting the CAI on the REVi. Did anyone else have difficulty with alignment up against the rubber gasket?? I was expecting it to slide into the opening on the back of the REVi rather than butt up against the gasket and car frame. . . Finally got it put back together as snug as possible. But I swear it whistles a little bit? Anyone else hearing this?

cooler intake temps - sure

car running cooler - I'd like a definition of what "car" is. The water temp is controlled by the thermostat, exhaust temps are controlled by afr and maf.

I too thought it would actually slide into theopening, and have the foam wrap around the outside of it. I had more trouble getting it to line up with the hood release, it did not want to lift high enough. It does whistle, I think they all do, or at least the ones I have heard do.

I was a little nervous about lossening the bumper support. Oh well.

Did anyone else notice taht the instrucitons mis-sized most of the nuts and bolts that had to be loosened. I read, then grabbed a socket, only to find out it was either too big or too small. Happened a lot, kind of a pain.

yea there's some typos in there, though on the 'tools required' list in the beginning of the list they had it correct, ie 10mm and 14mm sockets....

and the whistling is normal, because i have it too :p

Yeah, mine whistles as well. I don't think it has anything to do with the gasket.
