I asked the same question in the other Umnitza thread earlier tonight, I believe the smaller one is what they were previously using and the larger one is the revised part, why they sent both is kind of strange ...

The carbon fiber looks pretty, but if i were in the market for an intake... i'ld look for more than just that.

i looked at em all. i have no issues with RB at all. my friend has the RB intake/exhaust and it sounds awesome, i just didnt want to have the same sound that would be weird. i liked umnitza out of all of em. it seems as if the problem has been fixed but ill find out for sure later today. the piece of tubing that is not attached is the one you use, its longer and not as wide at the end.

Clever design. It looks like the exact same filter that is used in the TyphoonII - only flipped around the other way.
In the TyphoonII system, the concave part of the filter faces the front of the car and draws air into the filter on the indented side.
In this system, it appears that the concave part faces the throttle body and draws air from the convex side.
The advantage of this particular system appear to be 1) the intake will be quieter by placing it in the box. 2) assuming this system uses the lower half of the original air box - with the use of the Revi Ram intake, you end up with a pressure-charged box which could have power benefits.
Just a theory.

my friend is thinking about getting this intake, but I don't really know much about it so if anyone can help me understand this intake? it seemed to have so many problems a while back, but apparently they fixed everything that needed to be done like the K&N Typhoon...I was wondering if anyone can explain this intake to me, because no offense to people who have it but it just seems like a couple of plastic pieces with a beautiful carbon fiber finish for the case... Again I'm not judging, just trying to see if it's good and to see if I should recommend this intake to my friend....

PS--there's a lengthy thread about this intake a few threads down the page.

It just sits there with the pins connected to the back of the engine bay and its not like it is going anywhere with the hood on

I disagree, you better use the full width one, it should be approx. 3.5" diameter

and I would also recommend at least 1 screen approx. 2" - 3" ahead of the MAF, I've been running around with my home-brewed temporary short ram intake with the proper MAF tube size and a screen, no CEL or drivability issues
